Ever get a food idea in your head and just HAVE to make it right then? Well it happened to me last night, maybe it was all the read, white, and blue, but a strawberry cake sounded really, really good.  Some excellent recipes on here but I didn't have all the ingredients to any of them, thus… MORE

About this Cook
I'm in my 16th year of being 21 years old. Words that fit me best: mom, wife, daughter, teacher, maid, cleaning lady, and family chef. Personality words: smart (tooting my own horn here), sassy, funny, silly, lazy, dependable, reliable, and friendly.
My favorite things to cook
Love it all- southern style
My favorite family cooking traditions
All of our family gatherings and celebrations revolve around food- we are definitely southern cooks, no gourmets.
My cooking triumphs
This year's (2011) Thanksgiving turkey! Husband and sons raved over how yummy it was. The 3 day project began with an apple spice brine, then had a brown sugar rub, and finally it was smoked over apple wood chips.
My cooking tragedies
Even though I'm experienced, everything does not come out perfect. Cooking is always a matter of trial and error.

Kelsandra's Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls
These are good, but it's missing salt. I noticed these as I was making them and added a tiny bit but the end result needed more. The only other change I made was using heavy cream instead of evaporated milk, because I didn't have any. These are definitely good and a fun version to use for the fall!

Spaghetti Pie III
Yummy! I ate a whole plateful!! Only minor changes based on reviews and what my guys like. I added smoked sausage with the beef and 2 cans of sauce. I added a little grated parmesan to the sour cream/cream cheese mixture and mixed directly with noodles. I also layered mine, putting half the pasta on the bottom, then half the sauce, a little cheddar, then the other half of the pasta, sauce, then the remaining cheddar (I used less cheddar cause it was extra sharp- great for dieters who still want cheese). Baked according to directions and it was great! Will definitely make again because plain spaghetti gets so boring!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops
Very good! I followed other reviewers and baked mine. Next time I will probably double to sauce recipe cause I'm a dipper.
