I've never really been fond of cooking, though I do enjoy good food. I have decided it's time to be more responsible about what I am eating
My favorite things to cook
I'm still trying new things to find a favorite. I think probably the caramelized honey chicken or mom's pepper stake both served on white rice. Yum. But last winter I tried a chicken pot pie recipe I liked, and then there are all of those holiday meals that are so good too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving Turkey, Christmas Tri-Tip. I grew up not enjoying ham, it has only been recently that I've started to acquire a taste for it. I think it has to do with all of that salt. Easter deviled eggs. Hopefully I'll make some new traditions.
My cooking triumphs
These happen by accident and I can rarely duplicate them. Usually I'm fine if I am following a recipe.
My cooking tragedies
I have many of these, usually this is due to timing. I'll get distracted and burn something or it will get cold or not heat up enough. However on one occasion in particular I tried to make my Mom's porcupine meatballs and used regular long rice instead of instant rice. So my meatballs were really poky. I had to toss them. My worst mistakes happen when I experiment, and only occasionally do I get a triumph of wow's or that is good.

Broccoli Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo
Just made this for dinner, my kids loved it. The only changes I made was leaving out the butter (We didn't miss it). I also used 1 large Can of Chicken instead of cooking and shedding the chicken which cut down on the prep and cook time. I bet this would taste really good with asparagus too. Really fast, really good dinner.

Easy Rice Breakfast Treat
My family really likes this recipe. My great grandma served it to me when I was little. The only difference we did was serve the rice hot with cold milk. It causes and interesting mix of both hot and cold, IF you eat it quick enough before the milk warms (which I like to do).
