Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
Really good! I'm wondering if it might be a tad better by adding some hot sauce just to give it a little zip? It seems to be missing something.....

Matrimonial Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
This was a good recipe. My only change: I used a 8x8" pan instead of the 9x12" because I didn't seem to have enough oat mixture for both bottom and top layers. The end result was a thicker bar. Thanks for the recipe!

Ramen Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
Fantastic! I made this salad this morning and put it in the frig to chill until supper. Hubby ate 3/4 of it before 5:00pm! (He can be rather luke-warm on some of the stuff I make but, this one was a real hit!) My only alteration: I added mandarin oranges. Thank you for the recipe!

Cuban Midnight Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
These were good. I followed the recipe exactly. Thank you for sharing! I will enjoy making/eating these again! I used my George Forman grill. Instead of an attractive panini-style sandwich with grill marks I got sad looking smashed mess (that tasted delicious). I will have to work on my presentation. :-)

Grandma's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
My husband made these last night and they were very good. He didn't add cloves and we didn't have green pepper on hand and they turned out great! Looking at the poor reviews many have given, I'm a little shocked because these taste, to me, really good!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
Bye-bye Bisquick. I've (finally) found my pancake recipe! I followed the recipe exactly and really enjoyed the flavor and texture of these pancakes. Just to try it out, I might replace the milk with buttermilk next time. But they're also perfect as is.

Traditional Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This recipe is delicious! Thank you! Tastes like a Big Mac. Yum. Instead of using 2 different breads I used the Pepperidge Farm Rye/Pumpernickle Swirl Bread and layered the ingredients: bread, kraut, beef, dressing, cheese, repeat. Fantastic! Although I haven't tried it, I'm sure this recipe would be good using chicken and light dressing to cut a few calories.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
These are delicious! I followed Shannon's advice and altered this recipe as follows: used about 1c cheese, added 1 tsp of garlic, 1/3 tsp. onion powder and 1/2 tsp of dried parsley to the biscuit batter. I used specified amounts in butter mixture but added 1/2 tsp of additional parsley (and could probably even used more). I omitted the salt which wasn't missed at all. I also used baking spray rather than parchment paper. Fantastic! Will make many times again :-)

Texas Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I thought this recipe was pretty tasty. I liked the spicy kick it had. If I make this again I will add some pulled rotisserie chicken and some fresh cilantro.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
I made this recipe in a hurry (sick child) and didn't take the time to read what other posters had said. Hence, a overwhelmingly salty soup! Yuck! It was salvagable because I added lots of water to it. (I would have had to add water to it anyway because it was too thick and pasty for my liking). Next time, I will omit the salt (broth adds plenty) and also add carrots. With these alterations it is worthy of a 5 star score.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Oh my, I can't believe how easy this recipe is! I rolled truffles in coconut, cinnamon/sugar, cocoa and crushed walnuts. What a beautiful presentation. Thank you for such a great recipe!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I know I'm the odd-ball here but, I really didn't think these were that great. I've had much better stuffed mushrooms. I think the parmesan cheese was a bit overwhelming.

Crispy Coconut Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
These were pretty good. I followed the receipe exactly and mine never got golden brown like the photo. The taste was good but the texture was soft - not crispy like I would have preferred.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Great recipe! I followed recipe exactly and the came out just perfect. Because I am a chocolate lover, I have also added chocolate chips to this recipe - YUM! My latest addition: chocolate covered raisins :-)

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
5 stars easily! YUM! I followed the suggestions of others and used 2 egg whites, mostly vanilla for liquid (just about a 1/2 tsp of water) and used gallon-sized zip lock bags for egg and sugar mixture. (Great tip by the way!) My house smells WONDERFUL!! Can't wait to share these yummy treats.

Delicious Pineapple Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
Something went very wrong with this recipe. I thought the topping was tasty but, the body of the muffin was very bland and almost chewy in texture. I thought the amount of baking soda was a bit excessive. A TABLEspoon? Really? Also, it didn't seem to cook evenly. The edges were overdone and stuck to the muffin cups big time. A real disappointment! Maybe this recipe could be salvaged by adding applesauce, crushed pineapple, more butter/oil and/or turning the temperature down to 350. (?) :-(

Hamburger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
I used colored frosting for the "lettuce", "tomato", and "cheese" and Grasshopper cookies for the "burger". Very cute! Taste was kinda weird but, that was not the purpose. I give this a "5" because of the fun time my daughter and I had putting these together!!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I have never eaten Stuffed Cabbage before. I wanted to try something different, something out of my comfort zone and couldn't resist this recipe with all it's high reviews. I thought these were good but honestly, nothing I would probably make again. The meat seemed a little bland. I think adding some garlic, salt and maybe some hot sauce might boost the flavor. I'd give it a 3.5 for "average"

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Wonderful! Easy to overcook. Don't cook with your eyes. I could have sworn these were not done by 9 minutes. Consequently, I cooked one batch for 12 minutes and they were hard, not soft like I prefer. I got the hang of it after the first batch. These cookies freeze well. Good for gift giving.
