Mincemeat Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
I am just finishing the last mincemeat cookie. Yum!!! These cookies are now my absolute new favorite cookie. They are moist and completely delicious! After they had cooled I iced them with a confectionary sugar icing and that only added to the flavor. What I like best is that the mincemeat is subtle and doesn't overpower the cookie. These will be my new holiday cookie for certain. Thanks for submitting the recipe.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
This was so delicious and easy. I appreciate a recipe and other reviews that allow me to tweek it to suit our tastes. My personal modifications were similiar to others except I used yogurt instead of the sour cream mixed with the seasoned hamburger mixture. That gave it a slightly sweet taste, but I balanced it with some green chilies from a jar and a squeeze of Mexican seasoning in the tube. I topped that with 4 slices of cheddar cheese, taco sauce, and some crumbled taco chips as per recipe, then baked about 18 minutes. Thanks to the submitter for a really good and easy Mexican meal!

Guacamole

Reviewed: May 17, 2013
I made this recipe last night but must have done something wrong since it tasted too heavy of avocados. Will try next time skipping the onion and subbing a little salsa for the tomatoes.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Thanks for a wonderful and delicious recipe!!! The only change that I made was to use Truvia for baking instead of the white sugar as another reviewer suggested to cut down on the calories.

Corn and Zucchini Melody

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Delicious! I only had real bacon bits so I sauteed the vegetables in a little oil and a pat of butter. After they were cooked I added some diced ham that I sauteed in a separate pan and the real bacon bits. I only used a little shredded cheese though. This made a quick, easy and flavorful meal!

Authentic German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
I love German Potato Salad and this is very much like I get in my favorite German restaurants. I made it even easier by doing the following: I already had a small bag of petite potatoes which I quartered, boiled for 12 minutes then let cool. I did this earlier in the day. When it was time for dinner, I just sauteed the onion in regular oil, then added the vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and pepper as directed. I added the pre-cooked potatoes and some real bacon bits before serving. My husband really enjoyed it as well. Best part..it tasted great even cold the next day. Thank you for a delicious recipe!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Wow! I can not believe how really really good this recipe is and healthy as well!!! I also can't believe how incrediably easy it is to make either. The hardest part was splitting the squash before roasting it in the oven. I used an ice cream scoop to scoop out the strings when it was done. After I cooked it, all I had to do was saute the onions and garlic, add in a can of undrained petite tomatoes, some delicious basil pesto my daughter had made, top with the fat free cheese and a fee fresh olives, then add the squash. Both my husband and I thoguht it was delicious and not as heavy feeling like pasta. Excellent recipe!

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
This was absolutely fantastic! I was skeptical when I saw the tomato soup and diced tomatoes since I am not fond of tomato soup. I didn't have the diced tomatoes anyway, so I used tomato sauce and it was fine. I had no cilantro, but decided to use some diced green chilies instead. This gave it a little more zip. And best of all...my husband raved over it! Thanks

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
Though we normally don't care for pasta salads, the recipe looked good so I made this for my husband and me. He really liked it because he said the oil wasn't overpowing. I used macaroni since that is all I had. I also had no seasame seeds so I substitued crushed peanuts. We both liked that addition. Thanks!

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2005
Perfect was all I could say when I first tasted the pie. It is the best blueberry pie that I have ever eaten. It was not too sweet and held together well when cut. I did not have the sour cream so I substituted the low fat yogurt that I had instead.
