I learned to cook out of necessity. My mother worked and did not take time to cook new foods. At ten I found her big cookbook and started making meals for my parents. They really enjoyed it. This also got me out of having to do the dinner dishes! I am a mom to three great kids. I have a wonderful husband. I worked for many years and now I stay at home. Something I always wanted to do. I am right where I want to be. I love my life! Comfort foods are my all time favorites to cook. A big pot of gumbo on cold day really hits the spot. I make a Passover Meal for Easter every year. My children enjoy trying different foods and learning about different cultures. Christmas dinner is always Prime Rib. My older son would die if he did not have this meal! I learned to cook early in my life. I had an Uncle Scottie (no my real uncle). Every New Years Eve he and his wife Jeannie would cook for days. When I was twelve he let me help. On the second day, night of the party, He taught me to make a Baked Alaska. I have been hooked on cooking since. The one that comes to mind is... One of my first grilling experiences was grilled pork chops. My husband ate them with lots of water. Choking them down. They were so dry you could have soled shoes with them. He did not say a word. Needless to say he does most of the grilling :-)
