I was never much of a cook when I was younger. In fact I would trade cooking chores with my sister for dish washing any day. But as I've gotten older and have my own family I've learned that the heart of the home really is in the kitchen. Now my kitchen is in the center of the activity and I love having friends and family over to try out a new soup or my traditional spaghetti sauce recipe.
My husband and I love to travel and we always try new foods while doing so. Now when we get home we try to duplicate what we've tried and share our experiences with our loved ones.
I also love kitchen gadgets and will try a new recipe just to justify buying a new pan or kitchen tool. LOL! I've had a lot of hobbies over the years but it always comes back to cooking. Hey you gotta eat!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and experiment with new recipes. Although, my favorite recipe's are casseroles because my hubby loves anything he can put into a bowl and eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unfortunately I never had any because my mother wasn't much of a cook. So my sister and I have chose to change that. We now compete every holiday to come up with the best new recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I made my very first Turkey dinner with all the trimmings a couple of years ago and after that I felt like I could do anything so I've been experimenting with recipes ever since.
My cooking tragedies
I had a great lasagna recipe (blue ribbon from my Aunt) and had all of my friends over for it one evening but got deathly ill with the flu afterwards. I haven't been able to even look at lasagna again. (sniff, sniff)
