Fresh Cherry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
Not bad, but I prefer a more biscuit-like texture to my cobbler. This was more like cherry cake. It tasted ok, but didn't come out as good as I was hoping.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2014
Absolutely delicious bread. Much softer and fluffier than a lot of bread recipes that I've tried recently. Very light and airy, with a fantastic flavor. I used regular all-purpose flour instead of bread flour, but I'd love to give it a try with bread flour, too. I usually make two loaves of bread, then throw the rest into the fridge to make pizzas with later. This is now my go-to white bread recipe. Wonderful!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2013
This is BY FAR the best banana bread recipe I've ever tried. I gave a few mini-loaves to the people at my dentist's office, and they raved about it. Even my husband, who is not a huge banana bread fan, loved it. Super moist, sweet without being overbearing, and the banana flavor is very strong. This has become my go-to recipe for banana bread. Well done!

This was WONDERFUL! Rave reviews at Christmas. I made muffins and topped them with cream cheese icing, and they tasted like pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Delicious!

This was a huge hit. Tastes just like the stuff we got at the Brazilian steakhouse.

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I used sugar free applesauce, and Splenda instead of sugar. Turned out great! Moist and delicious.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Great recipe! Tangy and delicious. I double coated the chicken (flour, then egg, then flour again), and cooked it in sesame oil. It held up wonderfully in the sauce. Will definitely make this again.

Patty's Mom's Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Excellent black bean soup. I'll be using this recipe from now on. I was in a hurry, so I used three large cans of black beans, which I drained and rinsed. Added a carton of chicken broth and tossed everything else into the mix. Only other change I made was to add garlic and a teeny bit of cilantro. Thanks, Patty's Mom!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Not bad, but not really what I was looking for, either. The taste was off, a more specific amount of soy/sesame oil would have been appreciated.

Absolutely amazing. My husband and I both loved this. Served with rice and a gravy made with the pan drippings. I will be making this again, definitely.

Ham-Stuffed Manicotti

Very good! I doubled the amount of sauce and used diced "black forest ham" from the deli instead of ground ham. Served with breadsticks, delicious!

Aunt Carol's Spinach and Fish Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
Great recipe! I used Orange Roughy, fresh baby spinach, chopped onions, mushrooms and panko crumbs instead of regular bread crumbs. I mixed all of the cheese into the spinach mixture, and reserved about 1/4 of the mixture to spread on top. Sprinkle with a little cheese and serve! Delicious!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Outstanding. Very flavorful. I added a tablespoon of cumin to the recipe, but I don't think it really needs anything else. Yum.
