About this Cook
Hi there! I grew up in London, England. I went to college and got my degree in Hotel and Catering Management. From there I worked as a contract Catering Manger for many different establishments. I met my wonderful husband on vacation in Los Angeles and after a long distance relationship we married and moved to Ventura, California where I continued working managing the food operations in a large hospital. Three kids and 20 years later, we reside in Colorado. I continue to cook but not in the workplace. One of my favorite things to do is use up ingredients in my pantry/fridge by using Allrecipes to find new recipes. I hate to throw out any food, love to write, bargain shop, would love to be a professional organizer for others. I am a Christian who loves the Lord and seeks to serve him through my love of cooking. I have cooked for church groups, bible studies, weddings and have done private catering. Anyway that sums me up! Cheers! Jules

Organizing catering events for 1000's of people which turn out well have been cooking triumphs for me!
My cooking tragedies
One time I was cooking a huge commercial pot of Stew to serve about 120 employees of a company I was contracted to. The meat was in huge chunks, so I put on a new pair of rubber gloves and scooped out meat and cut with scissors. When I realized I was getting burned I lifted out my rubber gloved hand and to my horror, saw that I had cut the tops off to my gloves and they were somewhere in the stew!! With the employees lining up to eat in the cafeteria I desperately spooned around in the stew until all the yellow finger tops of the rubber gloves came to the surface!

Ginger Pear Bread
This is a great way to use up ripe pears! I used about 5-6 very ripe pears which made 2 cups once peeled and diced. Did take longer than 40 minutes to bake on 350f but worth the wait. It was delicious with the chunks of pear visible when the loaf is sliced. This recipe is a keeper!

Zucchini Brownies
Good recipe, frosting is really good. I added an extra cup of Zucchini just because I have sooo much from my garden!

Old Fashioned Rhubarb Bread Pudding
Great Recipe, agree that it did need more rhubarb so increased to 4 cups and baked in a stoneware 9x9 pan. Delicious!!
