Guacamole

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Perfect. I've made Guacamole twice before looking for a recipe I'd like, the other two didn't work out for me. This one has all the spice and flavor I like.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
I love it and make it many times throughout the year. The dressing is what makes it stand out. I do usually reduce the amount of sugar. When in the mood I add strawberries and some feta cheese.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
My family of 6, consisting of 5 finicky men all loved this lasagna, just when they thought I couldn't improve on my own I try this and they were flabergasted! Only two things I changed. One was I subed italain sausage for 1/2 the hamburger and second WAY TOO MUCH SALT! I cut the salt out completely and nobody noticed! There is plenty of salt in the cheeses and the diced tomatoes to suit our tastes.

Grilled Hawaiian Chicken and Pineapple Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
I'd been looking for some time to duplicate a sandwich my husband and I first had while on vacation in Florida a few years ago. This is the taste we remember, we both love it. The Thousand Island dressing makes it great. We like using a soft bun. If you can't find Hawaiian marinade I've had to use a sweet and sour dressing for the marinade and it came out great also.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
Terrific, but make sure you use a full 10 cups of sliced apples. I had fewer to work with and it came out a bit too sweet, I knew it was due to not enough apples to begin with. My Picky son loved it. He is picky about both his apple pie and his apple crisp.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
Definately a five. My husband, who doesn't like pot pie (I made this cause I like it) actually said he liked this one! Yea...I did par cook the veggies to make them tender before baking. I also added fresh mushrooms chopped up. This time I used dumpling on the top of the pie because I only had one premade crust and was too lazy to make one from scratch. I added some shredded cheddar cheese to the dumplings. Turned out looking like a top crust. Next time I will make it with two regular crusts however. Very good. Will make again, next time for company!

Sun-Dried Tomato Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Oh my gosh, I love it! Used 1 clove of garlic like mentioned by others. I love the flavor of sundried tomato so this recipe will be remake again and again. Loved it so much remaking for Memorial Day picnic so I've updated this review. Still love it! Seems so do my guests.

Dill Cucumber Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
I love the flavor. I did add more dill. Mine came out a bit runny to be a dip. I'm wondering if it will thicken a bit upon setting in the fridge. I suspect my cucumbers were bigger than normal, thus too runny, next time I will add the cucumbers a bit at a time and see how that goes. However, this will make an excellent salad dressing too! Oh my gosh I wrote the above then I was tasting it again and decided to add some horseradish. Now I just can't stop tasting it! I'm going to put it on my salad for lunch.

Mini Crescent Dogs

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Every get together one of my kids or grandkids asks me to make these. I put small strips of cheese in with the little dogs. And usually provide mustard to dip them in, some dip some don't.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Excellent! I only had two loaf pans so I made 12 muffins in place of the third loaf. Baked them for about 30-35 minutes. My little grandson is gobbling them up as I write.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
I love the combo of peanutbutter and chocolate! That is why I tried these. My first batch was so yummy it went way to fast. The second batch came out different....hmm so this is what I found. My first batch was wetter, just barely able to mold into a ball. These are the ones that were so yummy. My second batch came out drier and left me wondering why, once they were baked they were still good, but not spectacular like the first batch had been. Used large egg in both. But I believe my problem batch I over did the sugar. My third batch I went just scant on the sugars (which I used 1/2 white and 1/2 brown). Back to YUMMY! So don't let the wet batter fool you. It's going to come out GREAT. Either way they are good cookie.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
I had never done chicken wings before when I decided to try this recipe because of the rave reviews. I am adding my own rave review with 5 stars! These came out better than all the take outs we've had around our home, and better than or equal to what we've had out at a restaurant. When and if the mood stikes me again (I don't often fry anything)I shall use this same reciepe just as it is. Hubby and adult son thought they were the tops too!

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
It came out great. I used a pan with sides for two reasons. One was the over spill everyone was mentioning. The other was I wanted the cookie itself to have sides more like a cake instead of having side like a regular chocolate chip cookie. I decorated the cookie for a Birthday. I'm going to make it again today for my grand daughters Birthday, maybe I'll get more creative with some frosting on the top.

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
This was great, I used it to decorate a large chocolate chip cookie/cake. There was plenty with about a cup of frosting left over. I also used butter ( I never use margarine in anything). I will use this recipe again.
