American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2002
My family of 6, consisting of 5 finicky men all loved this lasagna, just when they thought I couldn't improve on my own I try this and they were flabergasted! Only two things I changed. One was I subed italian sausage for 1/2 the hamburger and second WAY TOO MUCH SALT! I cut the salt out completely and nobody noticed! There is plenty of salt in the cheeses and the diced tomatoes to suit our tastes. Stopped by to correct my spelling...and to tell you all we still love this and I make only this recipe now.

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2002
Lovely, I had to add the water to the bottom of the pan to get the mushrooms to come out nice and soft, but everyone loved them and asked for more. I'll make them again.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2002
The family goobled them up! This is the first time I've made kababs on the grill, the only problem I ran into was turning them over. the tend to stick to the grill/cage and they pull apart when turned. I'm going to invest in a special grate for the grill so I can just flip the grate/cage next time.

Easy Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
Very sweet fruit dip, I wanted to make it less thick and not quite so sweet, I added plain low fat yogert. Wonderful! Exactly what I was looking for.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
Postively Terrific! I've made this twice now, doubled the recipe to make two big plates. The company gobbled it up each time! Both Plates! I think one thing that makes it really great is the tacco spices (pre-packaged) mixed with the re-fried beans. I'd had a recipe previous that didn't call for the peppers or green onions. My group seems to very much enjoy their addition. Of course you can leave out any little topping you don't like, example many don't want the peppers or maybe the olives to top it with. Whatever you like you and adjust. LOVE IT!

Bahama Mama

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
I used coconut flavored drink mix in a can instead of coconut rum. Didn't bother to double up on the regular rum either. Love it.

Emily's Famous Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2005
My family (of 5 men) loved these. In the past I've always made Sloppy Joe's with store bought packaged spices or from a can. What a wonderful and delicious differnce home made makes! I re rated this today because I'd only given it 4 stars previously. I realized as I was re reading my reviews, I make this every time we have Sloppy Joes. Still the best and family still love it.

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
The magic is in the dressing! Family loved it on mother's day. We're a big fan of a taste of pickle too. Next time I'll change the pasta to the cork screw type instead of ziti just because we'd prefer it. I'll be making this again and again.

The Best Ugly Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Like the title says, it was great, tender. but it fell apart when I turned it upside right to cut. Didn't bother anyone that it was ugly as I cut the meat and put on a platter to serve. Everyone loved it. I'll do it again.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
If I do this again I would omit at least 1/2 the butter for the topping if not all together. Wasn't thrilled with the cinnamon in the cake itself. Next time I'll just do a box mix.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
I love it and make it many times throughout the year. The dressing is what makes it stand out. I do usually reduce the amount of sugar. When in the mood I add strawberries and some feta cheese.
