Dill Cucumber Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
I love the flavor. I did add more dill. Mine came out a bit runny to be a dip. I'm wondering if it will thicken a bit upon setting in the fridge. I suspect my cucumbers were bigger than normal, thus too runny, next time I will add the cucumbers a bit at a time and see how that goes. However, this will make an excellent salad dressing too! Oh my gosh I wrote the above then I was tasting it again and decided to add some horseradish. Now I just can't stop tasting it! I'm going to put it on my salad for lunch.

Sun-Dried Tomato Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Oh my gosh, I love it! Used 1 clove of garlic like mentioned by others. I love the flavor of sundried tomato so this recipe will be remake again and again. Loved it so much remaking for Memorial Day picnic so I've updated this review. Still love it! Seems so do my guests.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
Definately a five. My husband, who doesn't like pot pie (I made this cause I like it) actually said he liked this one! Yea...I did par cook the veggies to make them tender before baking. I also added fresh mushrooms chopped up. This time I used dumpling on the top of the pie because I only had one premade crust and was too lazy to make one from scratch. I added some shredded cheddar cheese to the dumplings. Turned out looking like a top crust. Next time I will make it with two regular crusts however. Very good. Will make again, next time for company!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Perfect. I've made Guacamole twice before looking for a recipe I'd like, the other two didn't work out for me. This one has all the spice and flavor I like. I just made this again, this time I didn't have a fresh tomato so I used what I had, small can of petite diced tomatoes with green chilies (drained), I left out the pinch of cayenne. Came out just great! Oh and personal preference I cut the salt down a bit, I figure the chips I'm dipping into it have enough.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
Terrific, but make sure you use a full 10 cups of sliced apples. I had fewer to work with and it came out a bit too sweet, I knew it was due to not enough apples to begin with. My Picky son loved it. He is picky about both his apple pie and his apple crisp.

Eggs Benedict

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
I thought this came out just perfect. My husband and son loved it also. Sauce was perfect and this was my first time. I did overtoast my muffins a tad, but that was my own fault, so don't make the same mistake, watch them muffins.

Grilled Hawaiian Chicken and Pineapple Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
I'd been looking for some time to duplicate a sandwich my husband and I first had while on vacation in Florida a few years ago. This is the taste we remember, we both love it. The Thousand Island dressing makes it great. We like using a soft bun. If you can't find Hawaiian marinade I've had to use a sweet and sour dressing for the marinade and it came out great also.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
My guests and I thought it tasted store bought. Which isn't so good. I should have stuck to what I knew was good, instead trying to top what I already had. My guests ate it but did say it wasn't my best. No cinnamon for one they noted. I tried it because I'm always trying improve. But some things I guess are just the best and can't be impoved on. I won't make this again. People have different tastes though... many think this is tops. Not me.

Vegetable Beef Minestrone

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
My aunt called my attention to this recipe about 2 years ago, once I tried it I've made it again and again. Just made some today, can't wait to have it for lunch and then again for dinner. I usually do add more liquid, sometimes anohter can of stewed tomatoes, sometime I even add green beans. Always I cruch up some nacho chips on the top of my bowl. Love it.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
My family of 6, consisting of 5 finicky men all loved this lasagna, just when they thought I couldn't improve on my own I try this and they were flabergasted! Only two things I changed. One was I subed italain sausage for 1/2 the hamburger and second WAY TOO MUCH SALT! I cut the salt out completely and nobody noticed! There is plenty of salt in the cheeses and the diced tomatoes to suit our tastes.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

I love it and make it many times throughout the year. The dressing is what makes it stand out. I do usually reduce the amount of sugar. When in the mood I add strawberries and some feta cheese.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
If I do this again I would omit at least 1/2 the butter for the topping if not all together. Wasn't thrilled with the cinnamon in the cake itself. Next time I'll just do a box mix.
