Lemon Leaves

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
These are DELICIOUS!! They are delicate and lemony, and just a wonderful cookie. I used a lemon bakery emulsion instead of extract because I like the flavor better, and baked some with the pistachio topping and some with just sugar. My toddler loved helping me cut them out with tiny cookie cutters. 5 stars all the way!

While this was delicious, I think the butter could have easily been halved.

Toasted Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This was one of those dessert recipes where you KNOW you're eating something that is going to completely ruin your diet! It was yummy, we had everything in the house already, and my daughter thinks I'm a super Mom for letting her eat it ; ). I can foresee many combinations in our waffle-sandwich future. Thanks for sharing!

Bean and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This soup is great! If you use dried beans, you can really control the sodium content (I did use canned because I was short on time, but next time will use dried). I also used lower sodium chicken broth. This recipe is full of vegetables, has no added processed "junk" and the flavor is clean, allowing the ingredients work together naturally. My family loved it!

Cheesecake Pops

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
I can rate the method only, as I used it to salvage a cheesecake I baked that did not turn out as 'pretty' as I hoped it would. It was still delicious, and I didn't want it to go to waste, so I made these cheesecake pops! Not only are they fun to eat, but they turn cheesecake 'flops' into something really special. I'll make these many times in the future--thanks for the idea!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
Wonderful! Made these as part of Cookies Across America, and they are delicious. Just the right amount of spices! To achieve the attractive crinkly top, I chilled the dough for 1 hour, portioned out a dozen for baking using a cookie scoop (if you don't have one of these, you need on in your kitchen! It looks like a small ice cream scoop with a spring-loaded handle), then chilled the remaining dough as they baked. I think that's the secret to getting the tops to look like the primary recipe photo.

Traditional Christmas Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This is a good, basic savory cheese ball. I mixed everything together in a food processor and it was super-easy. Just make sure the folks you will be serving it to like green olives.

These are good, if you can get past the monumental name! My husband really enjoyed them. Next time, I'll add walnuts which will make me LOVE them.

High Protein Peanut Butter Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
LOVE this recipe! I didn't have they whey powder, so I unfortunately had to substitute ground oats and added some cocoa. I wanted to make these forever, and had some bananas that were ready for a recipe. My daughter ate one and said "these are the best things I have ever eaten, seriously!" I plan on keeping some stocked in the freezer. They are truly like a bon bon, without the guilt and sugar. THANKS for a wonderful 'clean' recipe!

Campbell's Kitchen Broccoli and Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
I enjoyed this as my main dish, but found it to be too salty for my taste. I chose to mix the soup, milk, and mustard together and the poured it over the broccoli and cheese. I topped it with cornbread stuffing to make it heartier since I knew it would be an entree. If I make it again, I will definitely seek out lower sodium ingredients.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
FABULOUS. I decided to make it ahead so we could grab it and go before soccer practice, so I made everything and did not add the spinach. To serve, I placed the torn, fresh spinach in our soup bowls and ladled the hot soup over it. Stir, and it cooks the spinach just enough to where it still retains its bite. Wonderful, delicious, my family devoured it and it warmed us up after getting chilled outside. Will make again and again!

Spicy Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
The heat was great from the peppers, but there is too much water. I could tell when I poured in half of the amount that it did not need any more to be 'soupy'. In order to boost the flavor, I would add either vegetable broth to keep it vegetarian, or chicken broth or stock, and some garlic & chopped tomatoes. As written, it is watery, but has wonderful potential. I could see how the peppers could help a head cold!

We really liked these, but I think I'll leave the raisins out next time (just a personal preference). They weren't dry at all, and my daughters loved them--I loved that they're all-natural and full of wholesome ingredients! I'll definitely make these again!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Deeeelicious! I did have to omit the dry milk powder since I didn't have any, but added 2 tbsp of flax seed meal. We loved these and next time, I'll add some mini chocolate chips to mimic my kid's favorite Eggo waffle flavor. These are better and more wholesome! Thanks!
