RITZ Push-Cart Hot Dog Bites

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
I've never had an authentic NY push-cart hotdog, but this recipe makes me want to go hug a vendor! The onion mixture is fantastic, and really adds a fantastic sweet and tangy flavor to the hotdogs. Even my 11 year old daughter who normally will not TOUCH onions if they're featured in a recipe loved these! I can't wait to serve these on Super Bowl Sunday, they're easy, quick, and can be made ahead. You created a definite winner, Lillian!

RITZ Cuban Minis

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
DELICIOUS!!! I prefer these open-faced without the top cracker because it makes it easier to eat. I love Cubans, and these are perfect. Put them together, pop them in the oven and you have 20 appetizers ready all at once! Fabulous, Renee, I look forward to making more!

RITZ "Everything" Bites with Lox and Schmear

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2014
Oh, Debbie. These are SOOOO good! I'll definitely make the spread again for snacks. I tried them with smoked salmon, and that can definitely be left off if you don't care for it. TRY THESE!!! My daughter wants to make cucumber sandwiches out of the spread for her lunchbox, it's that good. A true winner all around!

RITZ Fried Ravioli

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
Caution! Do not make these if you are alone. I could eat the entire batch, they are SO good! I do love the crispness and never thought making fried ravioli would be this easy (I don't fry). My family is going to really like these! I'll make them again, and again. Thanks for a tasty and delicious recipe!

Kale Cranberry Pepita Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
I've never tried the "grocery store salad" but have coworkers who rave about a specific one that sounds very similar. This is OUTSTANDING! We love kale, and wilting it in this salad gives us another way to enjoy it. My 11 year old daughter is excited to pack this in her lunch for tomorrow. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Wine-Braised Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
Very good! I didn't realize I was out of onions until I started the recipe, so I threw in some minced dried onion to make up for it. We really enjoyed this brisket! Flavorful, very tender, and yummy. Thanks!

Grandma's Gingerbread Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I really liked these, but had to add some cloves and brown sugar to boost the flavor. I made these in advance for our Christmas Eve breakfast, and I know my girls will love them. They're fun to decorate like gingerbread boy faces also--don't use white chocolate chips because they burn, but white sprinkles are adorable.

Simple Carnitas

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
This has been on my list of recipes to try for years, and I've been missing out! Delicious! My daughter had to make a Spanish recipe for class, and we decided to do this--plus my friends and I were having a party where Mexican food was on the menu--double duty! We made this twice in one week and LOVED the flavors of the pork. Serve it on corn tortillas with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, & Amy's cilantro cream sauce (recipe from Allrecipes) and it was FABULOUS!!

Gingerbread-Pear Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2013
Heavenly! I did have to use a gluten free flour blend since I baked these for a gluten-free friend but they turned out AMAZING! The combination if gingerbread and pear is divine. I'll make these again and again throughout the holiday season--GF and regular!! Thanks for a fantastic recipe!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
Delicious! I added a little more cinnamon, but everyone loved these! I made them into cupcakes and reduced the baking time by half. Several asked for the recipe, and that's always a plus.

Spicy Persimmon Chutney

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
I really liked this! I made it exactly as written and you have to simmer it long enough to evaporate the vinegar. It combined with the other ingredients and leaves a nice tang.

Kahlua Cake Bites

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
These taste AMAZING! If you use the full cup of Kahlua, your mixture will be very sticky, be sure to refrigerate overnight. Use half a cup of Kahlua if you want to make them quicker, or less sticky. Fantastic and fun for adult Christmas or holiday parties!

Persimmon and Pomegranate Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
We really enjoyed this! It was our first time using Fuyu persimmons, and they are delightful--they have the bite of an apple with the taste of a slightly starchy plum. Even my 11 year old liked it! Some crumbled goat cheese would take this salad over the top!! Perfect for Thanksgiving ;)

Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
My family loved this recipe! I used Kraft Olive Oil Mayo and added some dried thyme and poultry seasoning to the turkey and vegetable mixture. Serve with gravy and whole berry cranberry sauce--it reminded us of a turkey shepherd's pie. This is a great way to use up leftovers, and it's so versatile. Use your own stuffing, favorite vegetables, and make it your own!

Hot Italian Sausage and Shrimp with Asiago Grits

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Really good--I used Johnsonville chorizo instead of hot Italian sausage and it went so well with the shrimp! Next time, I think I'll make a sauce out of sausage drippings, a little flour, half & half, and Cajun seasoning to finish it. Delicious!

Cannellini Beans and Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
Very good! We loved the combination of sausage with the beans. I used canned cannellini beans since I always have them in the pantry and couldn't find dried. Next time, I'll add some more herbs for flavor (more sage & thyme), but this is a keeper. Thanks!

Johnsonville® Italian Sausage Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
Very easy and good--I used no boil whole wheat lasagna noodles and it turned out perfectly. My husband loves sausage and he chose this recipe over another, and we look forward to making it again! Thanks for a great lasagna!

Smoked Sausage Frittata

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
We really enjoyed this, but we love frittatas! I sauteed the sausage until it was on the verge of crispy, and left everything else the same. Be sure you have some orange juice on hand--this is perfect for any meal.

Hawaiian Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2013
We really liked these. I left off the cheese and used baby spinach instead of lettuce, but they made a quick and tasty dinner. The chili mayonnaise and added pineapple were great! I also accidentally bought fresh Butterball turkey burger patties, and they were very good. They weren't too salty as some reviewers found with the frozen patties.

Asian Bison Short Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
WOW! Having never tried bison, I was very excited to prepare this recipe. A little prep work, then it cooks in the slow cooker all day? Sold! The flavor was mild, and the ribs were extremely tender. Ginger was left off of the ingredient list, so I added 2 tsp of freshly grated ginger, and I wish I had added more. The vegetables were wonderful too, and next time I'll add more carrots. My family devoured this meal, and it will be perfect for company. I'll definitely make it again! Bison is very lean, and very good. Thanks for such a terrific recipe.
