About this Cook
I am still under 30! Engaged to a wonderful guy who I lovingly refer to as Captain Discovery Channel. He is a great cook, his grandfather was a great chef and taught him everything he knows. I am slowly learning from him but usually let him take over in the kitchen if he's home. Especially when it comes to fancy cooking. Baking is so much fun for me because I can get as creative as I want and it's so hard to go wrong.
My favorite things to cook
Anything in the Slow Cooker. Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies. Toblerone Chocolate Pecan Pie. Enchiladas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas time is when all the cookie sheets come out. My Mom & I love to bake for the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Having a clean kitchen after spending 3-4 hours in the kitchen making a huge mexican dish. Clean as you go!
My cooking tragedies
My friend Amber and I were making Caramel Brownies not paying attention to who was adding what ingredient. When they came out of the oven they were hard as a brick and tasted like baking soda. It was really funny at the time and we still laugh about it.

Cucumbers with Dressing
This was fantastic! Used apple vinegar and followed the rest exactly.

Cheesy Chicken Poblano Chowder
I didn't have much time to prepare, so I stuck with the main ingredients (minus thickening it with flour), threw it all in the slow cooker and let it cook for 8 hours. The chicken was shredded and the flavor was amazing. I added a little dollop of sour cream and shredded tortilla strips at the end. This is a keeper.

Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze
This was wonderful! Didn't change a thing. Made some white rice and steamed mixed vegetables with it.
