About this Cook
I like to think I know my way around a kitchen pretty well. I remember watching my Grandma in the kitchen. She was the kind of woman that didnt measure anything and made biscuits on the counter with no bowl!!! There was always a pot of Northern Beans, Collard Greens, and Boiled Potatoes on the stove with cornbread in the oven. I hope I can be half the cook she was....
My favorite things to cook
I will try to cook anything once. Anything to keep me in the kitchen!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite would have to be good old Southern Cooking. The recipes take me back to my childhood!
My cooking triumphs
In my opinion anything that turns out edible is a triumph....
My cooking tragedies
I will probably never try to make any form of preserves or candy ever again. Never turn out the way its intended...

Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole
This was a great casserole. I used a whole small onion, no condensed mushroom soup (I didn't have any so I mixed one cup of water to a package of mushroom gravy), and I used tater tots in place of the fries. Turned out wonderful and everyone wanted seconds. Thanks for sharing.

Cadillac Pimento Cheese
This was a first for me. I used mild cheddar cheese, and more like a cup of mayo. Very pretty to look at and yummy to eat. Thanks for sharing.

Blueberry Crumb Bars
Great use of summer berries. I used 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup of white sugar for the crust. I also used butter flavor crisco. I added the salt and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. For the berries, I used 4 teaspoons of cornstarch. I made a glaze of powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and milk. Yummy bars and not too sweet. Will def make again. Thanks for sharing!
