About this Cook
I'm a mom who never thought she'd try to become a domestic goddess! I'm getting better every day.
My favorite things to cook
(Southern) breakfast, all desserts, pizza, pasta, and anything that combines lean meats and fresh veggies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm a big fan of making desserts at Christmas with my family and waking up to make breakfast with my husband or parents. I love budgeting and cooking.
My cooking triumphs
Made my own cheese. Poached an egg perfectly. Made almost all of our Thanksgiving dinner in my tiny kitchen. Cooked up tons of homemade Christmas presents. Made homemade candy canes... that my toddler shattered. Hosted the dessert part of a progressive dinner party.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make lentil soup with water, bits of ham, salt, pepper, and cooking it for only 15 minutes. When I was very young, I once used a half cup of baking soda to make cookies. They were wretched. Made delicious homemade candy canes... that my toddler shattered.

Grilled Mediterranean Greek Pizza with Sundried Tomato Chicken Sausage
I liked the flavors of everything here, but the sausage was a bit odd. Still a good little recipe!

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup
I was disappointed in the spices in this recipe. I expected more of an Italian flavor. But it was fine otherwise, and good leftovers - I made half the recipe and it was plenty for my husband and toddler, and we had leftovers.

Grilled Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage with Tomato Cream Sauce Over Linguine
I made this recipe as is except used whole milk instead of table cream. It was simply delicious. Don't leave out the fresh oregano - it really makes the dish.
