About this Cook
I am a food addict and don't plan on recovering any time soon! I truly enjoy cooking and baking, although I still have much to learn. In addition to kitchen time, reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Also, I am the oldest of seven children, and my husband and I spend a lot of time with both of our families, because our parents and siblings live close. Finally, I am very excited to be accepted into the Allrecipes Brand Ambassador program for 2013.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying new foods, but I often cook chicken dishes, because they are fairly easy and cheap. I really enjoy baking, but my husband does not like many sweets (much to my chagrin!) So, I often volunteer to bake a dessert whenever we spend time with other people or attend a church activity.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking/baking traditions are those that occur the days before holidays. My mother and I sometimes stay up all night baking together (usually Greek & Jewish recipes handed down from my grandmothers), and it is really a bonding time.
My cooking triumphs
Most of the recipes from Allrecipes lead to cooking success stories. Thank you to all the members of AR that have contributed recipes and reviews. They have been quite helpful!
My cooking tragedies
When I first began cooking, I had several poor attempts at using the broiler, most of which ended in a fire! I am happy to report that I have finally learned how to use it, after several tries. :)

Grilled Chicken and Herbs
This is a very good recipe! I cooked mine on a George Foreman grill. It was moist and tender. Served this with homemade BBQ sauce (used the Bar-B-Que Sauce recipe from this site). Didn't need to make any changes. Good as is!

Bar-B-Que Sauce
The flavors of this BBQ sauce are wonderful. Much better than store-bought. The only change I made was to add onion powder and minced garlic instead of garlic powder. Served this with the Grilled Chicken and Herbs recipe from this site. Delicious!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza
The combination of flavors was amazing, and this pizza was a great way to use up leftover shredded buffalo chicken. I used the Quick and Easy Pizza Crust recipe from this site w/ some herbs mixed in and and prebaked it (brushed with an olive oil/garlic powder mixture) for a few minutes. Then, I spread SOME blue cheese dressing (mixed with a tablespoon of buffalo sauce) onto the prebaked crust and sprinkled extra garlic and onion powder onto the sauce. I then spread the leftover shredded chicken onto the sauce and added a layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Baked at 450 degrees. When it came out of the oven and had rested for 5 minutes, I drizzled some of the blue cheese/buffalo sauce mixture onto the top. SOOOOO GOOD!
