Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Oh My Oh My what a ham!! I made this for Easter and fixed it exactly as written but I didn't need all the water. Full of moister and great taste too! I also added a teaspoon of ground cloves to the sugar mixture. My family LOVED this ham!! Thank You Thank YOU aellis0923. A True keeper:) YYYEEEAAAHHH BTW, the sauce this ham creates along with it's own juices is terrific on sweet potatoes, which I served along with roasted asparagus, mushrooms, mashed roasted potatoes and rolls. French Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
Hubby gives this 5 stars. I concur. I worked all day and needed a quick dinner. This was the dish that filled that bill. I did dust the chops with flour, I had a couple more chops, so I added some drIed onion and swapped out the sherry for a little bit of chicken broth. Added some extra milk and thinned it out with a little water. I served it with some mashed potatoes that had some kale thrown in for color. Quick n delicious! Thanks Mizzlex. Keeper:):)

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
A package of broccoli slaw costs $2.98 a bag. I got a couple of crowns of broccoli for .98 a LB, grabbed 2 carrots and a nice purple onion for color. I also got 6 packs of Raman for a buck! I had several choices for the vinegar, I went with Malt vinegar, I figured I could use it on my fish and chips in the future. Great Kick for said fried fish btw. Hee Hee. I went home, rough chopped the crowns, shredded the carrots and sliced the onion real thin. I found a small bag of roasted almonds in the cabinet, Score! This salad is just the Best tasting, sweet and tangy! I baked some chicken and I put that on the salad. Excellent lite lunch or super simple dinner!!:) Thank you Effie and Jarmen, from the bottom of my stuffed belly. This Rocks:)

Mexican Pesto

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
Ken, You are Amazing!! This pesto Rocks!! I made it just like it was written. Be careful with the salt, I used kosher salt and along with the cheese, I thought it was a little too salty,my fault. I Still loved it. We don't like our food screaming hot so I made it with 2 tbs of chopped canned jalapeno peppers. I made grilled carne asada to go with this and wrapped the meat along with the pesto in corn tortillas. Fabulous!! Thanks again Ken!

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Holy guacamole, my craving has been quenched! This chowder was just Terrific! I did add chopped onion. That was only thing I changed. Very flavorful, the ff half and half was just the ticket, save some calories but did not sacrifice the flavor. My kind of chowder! I served it with sour dough bread. Thanks for this delish dish Cindy!!

Funky Cholent

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Well, I made this for dinner today. First, if Fall had a taste, this is what it would taste like! I browned the beef, added the onions, garlic & salt. Put in CP added the rest, Including the pearl barley. I ran it on high for a couple hours and turned it down to low when I left for work. I checked it a couple of times. Please do not cook beef till tender before you add it to the cp. I did it the way I said and the meat was more then fork tender. I had it cooking from 6am till 4:30pm. My hubby liked it a lot! This stew has soo many flavors going on. You get a chunk of beef in one bite and then you get a yam. As I was making this dish, I was thinking, these items don't go together, but some how they work very well with each other.:) I served it with mixed veggies and buttered sourdough bread. I will make this again:)Thank You Very much Basg! One perfect meal for the up coming season!!

Granny's Lemon Yum Yum

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
I found this by accident. I was intrigued by the ingredients, it sounded like a pie that I get from a bake and broil place here in town. I didn't have any lemons and have a lime tree in my backyard( Sorry,Mandy),so I decided to use them. I added 3 drops of green food color as well as the zest from the limes. I was very confused about the pan size, I started it out in a 9 in. spring form pan, then switched the crumb mixture to an 8x8 pan. This worked much better! The taste was Sensational! OMG!! I understand I took liberty with the lemon/lime thing but I figured they are interchangeable. Thank You so much Mandy!! I will make this again and again!

Jicama Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
My 19 yo DD is eating this for breakfast! We love spinach dip and I wanted to try this with the jicama. I went to the store and found 1! very small jicama, I snagged it and put it in the FP. Perfect texture, I wasn't sure if the jicama would get soggy as it sat, Nope, Still plenty of Crunch! I also added a handful of chopped cilantro to add a bit of pizazz and it was Perfect! We have a new version of an old favorite at my house thanks to Turbo01 and this gem! BTW, I usually put this dip in a bread bowl. I hollow out the bread bowl and slather the inside cavity with EVOO and bake it till it gets all crispy and golden, Then put the dip in it. That way, the bowl holds up and has even More flavor! The bread from inside can be toasted at the same time and used at a dipper.

Pot Roast, Vegetables, and Beer

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
This was perfect for this cold fall day! Made the house smell like a yeast feast and I hope the neighbors were green with envy all afternoon! I love this and the family ate it up! I found a 6pk of Fall brew in the bargain bin and used my chuck roast I got on sale, for this outstanding dinner! I roasted some brussel sprouts and tossed them in to the hot tub as well! I started this at 12:30pm and by 3:30, it was fork tender and just waiting for us to catch up. I served this with buttered hoggie rolls from the bakery down the street. Delicious! Thank You Pam:) I am a happy wife tonight!! Patty
