About a year ago I was browsing the web for recipes and came across the site
100 Days of Real Food. At the point I saw this, my kitchen was very much like most people in the country. There were weeks (sometimes months) I relied on frozen meals, little debbies, Gardettos and canned soup
I am a part time home maker, and part time employee in my husband's home business. We entertain a lot, and play host to many of his employees and business partners, which gives me a lot of opportunity to try new things and improve upon my cooking skills. We are on a tight budget, and improvising is a necessity in my kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pretty much anything. I love to experiment and make something out of nothing. Pizzas seem to be my specialty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Outdoor grilling in the summer. Also old family recipes like Spaghetti & Meatballs, Meat Loaf, Mashed Potatoes and Potato Salad.
My cooking triumphs
Bavarian Apple Torte will always be one of my favorites. Also, any time I can perfectly cook a piece of meat is a grand accomplishment!
My cooking tragedies
I blame everything on the oven.
