Chef John's Perfect Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2014
Didn't change a thing. This was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife and 13 year old son were a bit wary about it being too rare, but one bite from the carving instantly won them over.

Barbequed Ribs

Outstanding recipe. Double the sauce for sure. Sauce was very sweet and good for those of low-spice tolerance. Kids ate it up. Totally worth the effort.

Authentic Pad Thai

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
This was really good just following the recipe, although not as good as decent pad thai from a restaurant. I think if I simmered everything together for a little longer (e.g. more than 5 mins), it would have reduced the vinegar flavor which was pretty obvious. Also, my noodles were a bit al dente - so more evidence that I didn't simmer long enough. All in all, this was REALLY good, but the bar is set pretty high for me as there is a lot of good Thai here (Seattle) that this dish is competing with.

Pablito's Chicken Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
This is really great- you don't even taste the kale (which is a plus for me) - and We have never used the sorrel becuase we haven't found it in our store...don't even know what it tastes like. But it's still delicious! The home made tortillas are completely worth the effort if you pick up a tortilla press. We freeze half of the tortillas (put some parchment between each one) and make it again in a few weeks...so yummy!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This is excellent. My only suggestion would be to reduce the vinegar by about 1/3. Also- great on the grill- we grilled chicken breasts and basted them after an initial searing, then reserved some of the warm sauce to drizzle over the chicken and sides (rice). Super yummy.
