Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
This was an easy enough meal to put together. I took the advice of anothe reviewer and used a can of chicken broth, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, and 1/2 cup of white wine. They provided enough liquid to keep it from getting dry and added some nice flavor. Didn't use the bouillon granules. I agree the sauce needs thickening if you'll serve over noodles or rice.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
These are easy and very rich, but I've never made truffles before and I would have liked more instruction about coatings. Wasn't quite sure what to do there.

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
This was good, although not the best overnight french toast recipe I've tried. I wasn't sure what "6 French bread" meant, so I just used an entire loaf and I did not cut the crusts off. I guess I'm not used to the "topping" being on the bottom of the dish, which left the top rather dry.

Chicken and Sweet Potato Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Well this was a fine dinner. I am a huge sweet potato fan and enjoyed the flavor with the chicken. I did saute the potatoes with some celery in olive oil for a bit before adding to the dish. Remember to pound the chicken pretty flat so it will cook faster. Mine took 45 minutes on 375. I added a can of chicken broth so things didn't get too dry. But the chicken really lacked flavor for me. Needs more seasoning.

Parmesan-Dill Cod

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
We enjoyed this very much! I used Old Bay in place of the seasoned salt and just sprinkled on a bunch of pepper. It had a nice kick. I completely forgot to add the almond at the end, but I don't think you need it. Very nice!

Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
My husband enjoyed this more than I did. I liked the crunch of the cornflakes but I found the onion soup mix overpowered all the other flavors. If I make it again, I'd leave that out.

Warm Winter Citrus Dessert

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
We enjoyed this dish a lot, although we served it as part of our meal rather than dessert! I used canned pineapple and diced up my oranges and grapefruit.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
These are quite good and I was pleased at how soft they stayed! I did freeze my peanut butter cups before putting them into the cookies, and also stuck the muffin tin in the freezer once the candy was placed in the cookies, just to solidify everything. That way nothing melted. I also needed to chill my dough a bit before I could roll it into balls. They turned out beautifully and just melt in your mouth!

Pecan Turtle Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This is a good, very rich bar. I took the advice of others and doubled the butter/brown sugar layer and I don't think I'll do that next time. Too much butter.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I love this salad! My grandma used to make it all the time and I haven't had it since we used to go to her house for the holidays. Awesome to find it here! Made as written, although I did cool the cream cheese layer in the fridge for about 45 minutes before adding the jello layer.

Grandma's Five Cup Salad

I think I've been eating this salad my entire life at potlucks, so I was delighted to find it here. I doubled the fruit and then used 8oz of sour cream and it was just perfect!

Raspberry Chocolate Supremes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Mmmmm...yummy! The crust needs some liquid to hold it together, so you either need to melt your butter a little or do what I did and add warm water, 1 tsp at a time, until it holds together. It took 3 tsp for me. I doubled the chocolate, and just used chips. I let it sit in the fridge overnight and it was perfect the next day. Loved it!

My Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
Oh my - this is rich and creamy! I made mostly as written except I used mozarella cheese instead of Muenster and shells instead of elbow mac. I doubled the shredded cheeses as well, and I only used 1 egg. Baked for 25 minutes and it was perfect! Very cheesy!

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
This is a very flavorful cupcake, although mine came out a bit dry. I think I'll bake about 5 minutes less next time. We loved the frosting with the cinnamon in it! Very nice touch that really makes the cupcakes. I topped with marshmallow pumpkins and candy corn.
