Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: May 25, 2012
Excellent cookie! As others suggested, I made the filling first and then chilled it while I made the cookies. I added 1 Tbsp of milk to the filling to hold it together a bit. The cookie dough is very soft and so it's nice to have the filling set a little. I did run out of filling before I ran out of cookie dough, but that will improve as I make these more and have a better feel for how large to make the middles. These are very rich and delicious!

Sweet Pretzel Nuggets

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
This is a nice combo of salty and sweet. I used pretzel rods because they were much cheaper than then nuggets. Just broke them into pieces. I only needed to microwave about 3 minutes total for the oil to all soak in, however, the cinnamon and sugar did not stick that well to the pretzels. I was left with a bunch in the bowl. Other than that, these worked nicely.

Sour Cream Spice Cake

We thought this cake was delicious! I didn't make the frosting here and instead used a cream cheese frosting recipe.

Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
This is maybe the sweetest frosting I've ever had! It made the roof of my mouth tingle. I like that, but be advised if you don't! It looses points because it didn't set up well for me and slid off the cake. Probably need to keep it refrigerated.

Easy Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
Well I thought this was delicious. Made exactly as written, although my pork chops were frozen solid, so I did not brown them. We served over rice and it was a very satisfying meal.

Sausage Pepper Skillet

We liked this quite a bit. I used a red and a yellow pepper. Very easy and fast, and the soy sauce sprinkled on top really did add nice flavor.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
Absolutely delicious! I only had a 2 1/2 pound roast, but I still made the same amount of "liquid". Very moist and tender and tasted great on hoagie rolls with provolone cheese.

Meatball Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
This was actually quite good! I used turkey meatballs, so then I used turkey gravy. Also just used a can of vegetable broth rather than the water and bouillon. Nice consistency and flavor!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
This is great lasagna and I did use the cottage cheese. I put the sauce in the crock pot for about 3 hours on high and I used the no bake noodles to save a step. Tasted even better the next day.

Baked Pepperoni Pizza Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
This was interesting. I didn't really feel that the mozzarella cheese melted. I didn't like the texture of it. I doubled the pepperoni and added some garlic powder and Italian seasoning. The guys liked it, but it wasn't creamy like I hoped it would be.

Kielbasa and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This was a good "comfort food" meal, but I agree with other reviewers that it's a bit bland. I took the advice of others and boiled my potatoes 10 minutes before mixing in the other ingredients. I also browned my sausage with garlic in a bit of olive oil. Only used 1 soup can of milk and it was nice and creamy, not soupy. Just lacked much flavor. Needs additional spices.

Fiesta Fry Pan Dinner

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
This was a decent dinner. I used about a 1/2 packet of burrito seasoning because that's what I had. Left out the corn and only used 1 cup of water. I also added a can of black beans. We served with tortillas. The recipe is versatile and filling.

Slow-Cooker Baked Bean Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
My family enjoyed this dish. It is a little on the bland side, although I still liked it. My hubby and son added some hot sauce to their bowls and declared it perfect! I do not see a reason to put the veggies and olive oil in first. I threw everything in together (with no olive oil) and cooked for 4 1/2 hours and it was perfect. The veggies were plenty soft. Left out the garbanzo beans. They just sounded wrong with baked beans. Overall an easy, comfort food type of meal!

Cheesy Taco Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
Simple and delicious! I didn't have crushed tomatoes, so I used a 16oz jar of salsa instead and I think it's better this way. Adds some nice spice. I also cubed my cheese rather than shredding it. Doesn't make a difference as long as it can melt easily.

Glazed Mint Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
These are delicious! I'm not sure why previous reviewers found the brownies to be grainy in texture. My only thought is perhaps they didn't use a blender to mix the eggs, sugar, and flour. The brownies are super quick and easy to make; don't use a mix! Mine sunk in the middle, which may be due to altitude. I also only had about 1/8 tsp of peppermint extract, but it was actually OK. I'd probably use 1/4 tsp next time. Hubby said these taste like junior mint brownies!

This was OK. I found the sauce to be very soupy (not thick enough), and also nothing like alfredo.

Baked Fettuccine Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
My family enjoyed this very much. I only used 9oz of pasta and I feel that was more than enough. I put it in an 8x8 pan and it worked great. Also only used a 15 oz can of tomatoes. I wasn't so sure about just dumping the soup on top and not mixing it in, but it was just right!
