About this Cook
I'm the middle child of 9 children. I had to learn to cook at an early age. My Father was a school teacher and my mother was a waitress 3 days a week in the evenings. Those evenings my sisters and I were responsible for making dinner. They were easy meals like pasta, hotdogs and grilled cheese, but it was a good intro to cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Fresh Bread, cookies and chicken soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cottage cheese with spaghetti.
My cooking triumphs
Fresh Bread- everyone likes it. I've been making it since I was not even 10 years old.
My cooking tragedies
I've tried several "throw it together" casseroles....the family rarely likes them. lol

Chicken and Gnocchi Soup
I thought this soup was AMAZING! I had tried a chicken gnocchi recipe a couple of years ago and bombed it, but this one was so good. I didn't eat it the first night I made it. I let the flavors soak in and ate it the next day. I can't believe how similar to Olive Garden this soup tastes!!!!! I am definitely going to make this again. I just used leftover turkey meat from a huge roast. I also didn't have all the broth the recipe called for so I added one can of cream of chicken soup and lots of water. I made the milk with flour since I didn't have any corn starch. I didn't completely follow the recipe because I never do. haha, especially not for soups. I used canned spinach because I didn't have any fresh. I can't say enough about how good this was. My boys loved it, too, because it tastes a lot like chicken noodle soup, except creamier. yum yum yum!
