Cola Pot Roast I

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
Wife: Tasty-delicious~! ^_^ Husband-Housekeeper: Was too lazy to defrost meat. Mixed ingredients together in the crockpot. threw 2.5 pound frozen chunk of meat in crockpot and cooked for 5 hours on high. Because of warnings about salt, I just added the amount I would normally add to a roast and used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. It tasted great (as good as my normally wonderful roast but without the exceptionally unhealthy brown gravy). A lot easier to make too. tip: cook until the sauce is reasonably thick. Most sauces taste sub-par if you don't thicken them enough.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Fabulous. I did 150% of the meat (sausage & bacon) and used slightly less water. Made my broth using boulion cubes. Used Kale instead of spinach. Used a little extra of the bacon grease.

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2001
A++ Ok, I've made this cheesecake about 8-10 times perfecting the recipe. I have it down now. Don't you hate how the outside of the cheesecake is rought but the middle is creamy. Follow my adjustments and it will be same texture all the way through, nice and creamy. Also, make sure you make some restaurant style strawberry topping. Try the "supreme strawberry topping" recipe here at allrecipes.com. Adjust cooking time on it as appropriate (about 15 minutes). Cheesecake recipe adjustments: Do not cook at 400 at all! Do NOT preheat oven. Prepare according to recipe and put in springform pan. Put pan in over. Now turn over to 200. Cook for ~3 hours & 10 minutes. (give or take 10 minutes). Should be a little firm when you turn the over off, but not real firm. Turn oven off after the 3 hours and about 10 minutes. Crack oven open and let cheesecake cool in over for 1 hour (or longer if you wish). The put cheesecake in refridgerator for AT LEAST over night. Best after full 24 hours. Prepare "supreme strawberry topping" and put in refridgerator. Walla! Best cheesecake ever. Raves from friends of mine: the skeptic: "Its creamier than cheesecake factory. Its hard to compare them...Honestly, I like this better." cheesecake enthusiasts: "I used to eat cheesecake a lot. Honestly [pause as she recounts all the cheesecakes she had ever had]....this is the best cheesecake I have ever had. Really, this is the best. The topping was good."

Alder Plank Smoked Salmon

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
Best Salmon I've ever had. Before today I would say that I didn't like salmon. Today was the turning point. I like salmon, it tastes wonderful...if done right. This recipes doesn't need modification, but I did do a few things different. I think the impact was minimal: Used the basic brine in the footnote, with a little modification: Water, soy sauce, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar (extra), normal iodized salt. At the end I added orange juice and lemon pepper. Soaked fish overnight and followed the recipe. Used double barrel charcoal pit with charcoal and wood chunks in small barrel and fish in big barrel. Replenished charcoal and wood when it got low. ~3 hours cooked, you could probably give or take an hour with no harm if smoking and not broiling. It was wonderful. Next time I'd like to try something exotic. I'd like to use more juices in my brine and layer the fish with fruit. Mandarine oranges, pineapple.... I think that might be really good. Then again, it came out great and I'd hate to mess up a wonderful recipe. This recipe is a keeper and will be used very very often in this house. You can't beat the health benefits of salmon with this wonderful taste.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2000
I made my first successful cinnamon roll with one of the other recipes, but this recipe worked out unbelieveably great. Finally a cinnamon roll that I (a beginner) could make, and it came out awesome. One suggestion. Increase icing amount by 33%. That's 4 oz cream cheese, 1/3 cup butter, 2 cups powdered sugar and 2/3 teaspoon vanilla. I hate feeling like I have to ration ingredients, especially icing!!!!!!!!!

100% Whole Wheat Cinnamon Roll

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
After much experimentation, my version with probably a little too much icing for most people. Some people would probably prefer less cinnamon too, but this is the way I like it.

If you can't handle the heat do not eat the habaneros and consider using the bell pepper substitutions suggested.
