Grandwich Breakfast Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
This was a very simple & easy recipe to get together. It is just a basic breakfast sandwich, but, very convenient using canned biscuit dough. Next time I make it I would just make a fried egg to put on the biscuit. The scrambled eggs kept falling out of the biscuit.

Grands!® Mini Pizzas

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
I have to say I was a little wary of using canned biscuit dough for pizza crust, however, I was pleasantly surpised at how good this was. I was able to put it together in minutes and it was very tasty. The only complaint I would have is that the middle section of the pizza was a little soggy & soft. I will make these again, but, will take the advice of some of the other reviewers and pre-bake the crust for a couple of minutes before adding the toppings.

The Best Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
We don't typically marinate steaks, but, wanted to try something a little different. This was really flavorful! I reduced the soy sauce slightly so it wouldn't be too salty. I marinated about 2 hours, but, next time would probably marinate a few more hours. Definitely will be using this again!

Fiery Fish Tacos with Crunchy Corn Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
We thought this was very flavorful and fresh tasting! Much healthier than a fried fish taco. The jicama gave the relish a nice crunch with just a touch of sweetness. The only thing I would adjust is the seasoning on the fish. We love spice, but 2 tbsp of cayenne is a lot! I just sprinkled the seasoning on the fish until lightly coated and it was plenty spicy.

Dark Chocolate Cherry Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
This was much easier to put together than other fudge recipes I have made in the past. I boiled for 4 minutes and consistency came out perfect. It was smooth, creamy, and not grainy at all. We thought the chocolate part of the fudge was very good, but, we were not a big fan of the dried fruit. My family would prefer it just plain chocolate or with some walnuts added. I will definitely make again - minus the dried cherries.

The Best Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
This was the first time I have made chili using ground turkey and it was very yummy! It was simple to put together and made the entire house smell wonderful as it simmered on the stovetop. The only thing I did differently was to use a full tsp. of red pepper flakes and half a diced fresh jalapeno because we really like it spicy! I would definitely make again. Thanks for the recipe! 1/1/13 Just changed my rating from a 4 to a 5. After sitting a day this chili was so, so much better! The flavors really had a chance to meld together and just made it even more flavorful!

Sweet and Salty Toll House® Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
The cookie was good, but, honestly I can't say that the addition of the potato chips or the pretzels really did anything for this cookie. The only difference I really noticed was that you got a crunchy bite when you bit down on a pretzel. Probably will just stick to the plain chocolate chip cookie recipe instead of having the added expense of two extra ingredients that in my opinion didn't enhance the flavor.

White Chip Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
My husband and I really liked the flavor of the cookie part. We both felt like it was missing something though. I will definitely make these again, but, next time I will either add some macadamia nuts or dried cranberries.

Jumbo Dark Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
One word...YUMMY! These were so good! Very rich and very chocolatey! I used the entire bag of chips and cooked a little less than the suggested time. This resulted in a soft and chewy cookie with nice crisp edges.

Butterscotch Haystacks

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
I typically love butterscotch haystacks! This is the first time I have seen a recipe for it with the addition of marshmallows. I have to say I am not a big fan of the marshmallows in the recipe. This candy is very sweet and I think the marshmallows made it too sweet. I will stick with my standard recipe of adding cashews or mixed nuts in lieu of the marshmallows. They give a nice salty contrast to the sweetness of the butterscotch chips. This is also a great recipe to follow using chocolate chips instead of the butterscotch.

Porridge

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
Very easy to put together and a nice hearty breakfast on a cold day. I added a little brown sugar to the top because I thought it needed to be slightly sweeter. I did not care for the texture of the bananas cooked into the porridge. They were a little too mushy for my personal preference. I would make this again, but, add some dried fruit and nuts instead next time.

Slow Cooker White Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
I was pleasantly surprised by this recipe! It was different than most white chilis I have had in the past and I actually liked it better. The use of the green salsa gave it a nice depth of flavor. Make sure when you are buying your green salsa you buy the salsa verde. There is also a green salsa in my store that I buy that is a pureed jalapeno salsa and is really spicy and a little bitter. The salsa verde is slightly spicy and has a nice tang from the tomatillas. I used yellow corn instead of white - but, otherwise made according to the recipe.

Bread and Butter Pickle Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
These deviled eggs were very simple to make and had a nice flavor. I really liked the addition of the chopped pickles. It gave them a nice sweet and tangy bite! I wasn't so crazy about the addition of the honey mustard, but, that is just my personal preference. I would probably just add a little yellow mustard instead next time.

Southern Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
These deviled eggs definitely reminded me of a traditional deviled egg that tends to be a little on the sweet side. I thought they were very flavorful and were well received in my house. I am not sure that I would use this exact recipe again only because of the use of the sweetened condensed milk. I typically only buy it for specific recipes and since this only uses 1/4 tsp or so I will need to find a use for the remaining before it spoils. I also added just a little more mayonnaise for our personal taste. Thanks for the recipe!

Moist Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
These turkey burgers were simple to put together and very tasty. I liked the carmelized onion flavor that came from browning the onions first instead of putting them in the burgers raw. There wasn't one particular flavor that stood out in these burgers - all the flavors combined just gave them a nice taste without being overpowering. They definitely were very moist!

Quick and Flavorful Vegetables

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
This recipe was a pleasant surprise! It was super, super easy to make and added a nice flavor. I only started with one packet of the Flavor Boost based on previous reviews and that was perfect for us. It added just enough flavor without too much salt.

Swanson® Ultra Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
I thought this was a very good basic mashed potato recipe. I do think that it developed a greater depth of flavor by cooking them in the chicken broth. This will be a tip that I use in the future. I read that some people had a problem that the potatoes turned into "glue" or "paste". I didn't have that problem at all. I used yukon gold potatoes, so, not sure if that made a difference or not.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
I used my husband as my "guinea pig" since I am not a fan of green bean casserole and I felt like I couldn't give an honest opinion for this review. He thought this was just ok. It was a little milky and didn't have as much flavor as we would have liked. I think if you like green bean casserole this is a good recipe to use as a starter point, but, it will need a little bit of tweaking.

Moist and Savory Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
I thought this was a good base for stuffing. It was good for a very basic recipe, but, it needed more flavor for us. I thought it would be better with some apple or sausage added to it.

Praline-Pumpkin Mousse Cornucopias

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
This was so much fun to make and such an elegant looking dessert! As others stated the directions in making the cornucopias was very clear and so easy to make. The mousse had a nice flavor and wasn't overly sweet in comparison to the caramel sauce. I think the puff pastry horns would be so versatile. Pefect for filling with a vanilla creme to make a cream horn or a chocolate mousse.
