Chocolate Zucchini Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2004
In the words of my father-in-law...This is an awesome recipe! I used german chocolate as I did not have unsweetened chocolate and added a couple tablespoons of cocoa. Instead of regular chocolate chips, I used the mini ones. This is a keeper recipe! UPDATE: to those who's chips are sinking - try mixing 1/4 of your flour with the chips. I have found that if you are using regular size chips, they will tend to sink. Mini chips work best.

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2005
Awesome - hubby loved it. I used this to marinade thin pork steaks and then brushed some of the marinade over the veggies (hubby thinks he doesn't like kabobs - but its the same thing, just not on the stick! lol) He loved this so much he said we will have to try it out on london broil - and the best statement "I would like to eat like this every night!"

Great Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2005
made this yesterday - I was very disappointed. I have always loved good season's dry dressing mix, but this had NO FLAVOR. I was thinking those thoughts when hubby spoke up and said he wasn't impressed. won't be wasting my oil and dressing mix on this recipe again.

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
We liked this, but can't say I would make it on a regular basis as it did not blow me away. Has good flavor, but not good enough for me to give this 5 stars.

Marinated Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
Can't say we really liked this - I don't know if it was the marinade or the fact it was wild turkey breast we marinated. It was edible, I just didn't care if I ate more than a few bites.

Vegetarian Sandwich Spread

I grew up eating this kind of stuff and this recipe in particular! I always loved it. I agree the Loma Linda Big Franks are the best to use in this recipe.

Classic Tiramisu

Good but a little on the sweet side for me. I would use less sugar next time. This is very rich - not something I would make often...a special treat!

Chicken Biscuit Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
This was pretty good. I think the temp of the oven was too high though. 450 over browned the biscuits on top and left them slightly gooey on bottom. I had to put back in the oven after the suggested amount of time. Would probably lower the temp to 350 and bake longer.

Slow Cooker Venison Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
Awesome - and it smelled so good when I walked in the door! I agree, I could barely tell it was venison. Even my son - who does not want anything to do with mushrooms loved it! I made french fries to go with the gravy and he poured the gravy all over his fries and venison! I will definitely make this again. One change I would make - I would use reduced sodium soup and garlic powder instead of salt. The onion soup mix has enough salt in it and I don't feel you need to add more. I did use liquid aminos since I was out of soy sauce, but there isn't much difference in taste there anyway.

Easy Beef Strogonoff

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2005
I give this 4 stars because hubby ate 2 platefuls. I couldn't eat all of mine, but I'm not that much of a meat eater so that is probably why. It tasted fine, could have had something "more" just don't know what. Was missing something in flavor. I would make it again when I needed something quick but it's not my favorite.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
I give this 5 stars based on the changes I made with the recipe. Instead of sugar I used Splenda sugar blend. I then made a buttercream frosting (stiff so it would harden on top) instead of the glaze. Even without the glaze, these cookies are AWESOME! I will definitely make these again.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
These are just so good! The first time I made them my husband said he couldn't taste the spice. I doubled the spices and used Splenda sugar blend. Took them to work today and I'm being asked for the recipe! One student came down and ate 2 while he sat here chatting w/ me! This is just the best muffin recipe. I also use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.

Venison Stroganoff

My husband loved this! I unfortunately could not eat it as I had to be on a totally fat free diet and did not have fat free soup or sour cream in the house. I'm looking forward to trying it myself in the future!

Cranberry Walnut Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
Not impressed. I made exactly as stated except I omitted the walnuts. Dry muffins that taste too much like the baking powder. IF I were to try this again, I would cut down on the baking powder some and not cook them for 25 minutes. This was way too long.
