The answer is YES.  They really can.  These muffins made me really homesick.  We are only 3 months into our new home and area...also meaning new jobs.  In my last job I loved to bake and take muffins to work to share with the faculty and students.  When I made these muffins earlier this… MORE

I have always tended to stay away from creamy alfredo type sauces on my pasta at home.  Mostly because of the calories.  I tend to like garlic butter type sauces on my noodles!  However, Grumpy favors alfredo types and for the most part, when we eat out, he ends up with something like Chicken… MORE

Blogging comes easier for me on the weekend as I have a whole lot more time at home (and day light for photos!) during the weekend.  This weekend I had all kinds of time.  Grumpy was down and out sick.  He was in bed all day on Saturday and made it as far as his chair today.  Hopefully… MORE

I had not made this recipe in a long, long time.  I used to make it for my kids when they were little.  They thought it was cool that it was called Invisible Banana French Toast!  Its a great recipe to make with your kids who are wanting to cook with you and very yummy to boot! The recipe… MORE

You can have your "brownie" and eat it too.  As long as you eat it in moderation.  After losing over 100 pounds, I have learned that you don't have to have as much as you think you need.  Sure, we all still love to eat and we all love what's not good for us, right?!  However, I have… MORE

After holiday overload of goodies, it is time to start thinking about eating more healthy and doing what I can to help Grumpy eat more "normal" sized portions and still be satisifed!  My first meal of the new year that I cooked - Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy, Mashed Potatoes,… MORE

About Me
I am a home cook who works full time and have been a blogger on my own site, Grumpy's Honeybunch, since 2007. I love to experiment and create in the kitchen. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but always fun! My one place I am not the best at is the grill - and I leave that to Grumpy! Since I started using AR several years ago, my home life has changed a lot. We had to relocate for work purposes, My sons no longer live at home and its just Grumpy, me, and our 3 cats. I am a participant in the Allrecipes Allstar program and have had a great time with the challenges as well as the great people I have met through the Allstar program!
My favorite things to cook
I always was a baker but since I started blogging almost 5 years ago, I have also become a more experienced cook. We love pasta meals and especially Asian inspired meals. I love homemade candy although I'm not the best candy maker, I will still attempt it every so often. My very favorite sweet treat from this site is Brooke's Bombshell Brownies. I've taken the recipe and used it as a base to create several different brownie recipes, my favorite being "when life gets you down" brownie (chock full of Peanut Butter flavor) and a peanut butter caramel swirled brownie. Both recipes are on my blog grumpyshoneybunch.com.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Summer fish frys at my aunt and uncles home. Homemade fudge and popcorn on Saturday nights while a child! When my boys were younger Friday night was homemade pizza and movie night and some of my most special memories are baking cookies with Nanny. I have every one of her "special" cookie recipes on file and when feeling nostalgia hit I will bake one of her recipes.
My cooking triumphs
My best compliment ever - a cheesecake I made was described to be "better than Juniors!" The pumpkin fudge recipe on this site that I reviewed at 5 stars....this is an awesome cooked fudge recipe. My son totally loves the fudge and so do I!
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was first married, I made fudge. It didn't set up and I was too embarrassed to tell my hubby, so I hid it in the closet (no idea WHY I did such a thing!) and ended up forgetting about it. We came across it one day cleaning and I had to fess up, he had more of a laugh because I tried to hide it!
