Wow!  I have my own, very first BLOG!  Well, right now (9:35am CST 08/09/2011) I'm contemplating some really WONDERFUL banana bread!  During the Holidays, I usually get TEN dollars/loaf for my bread!  Forgive me for "honking my own horn," but it really is DELICIOUS! MORE

Hello everyone! My name is Gregory, but down here in the "tip of Texas" they call me "Goyo" (Hispanic for 'Gregory!'). Presently I am a 'disabled' person (subsequent to a massive myocardial infarction I suffered on Labor Day 2010. I really enjoy cooking when I am able to do so. My absolute best offering is my "often imitated - NEVER duplicated" chili!
My favorite things to cook
My chili (see above!); my spaghetti sauce with either very lean ground turkey, ground meat, and/or meatballs! ALL done from scratch!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was VERY fortunate. One of my most favorite Uncles (Joe D'agostino, deceased 1982) taught me how to really put my heart and soul into cooking! I will always be so grateful to him for sharing his culinary wisdom with me!

Deep Dish Lasagna
This is a wonderful recipe! That being said, I do have one recommendation... PLEASE cook a few extra lasagna noodles, and begin the layering process by covering the bottom of your baking dish with a layer of lasagna noodles, than alternate layers as you wish... TRUST ME!! :)

Baked Omelet Squares
WOW!! This is really great! I made this for my Mom & myself, and the only changes I made were omission of the mushrooms, and since we like our food on the "spicy" end, I added a generous splash of TABASCO sauce, and I added some cheese on top! So DELICIOUS!!

Jeff's Sloppy Joes
This is a really good recipe that I altered a bit for my personal taste. Now I don't care for celery so I omitted it and slightly increased the green pepper & chopped onion. Quite delicious!!
