Mexican-Style Fajitas

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Very good! Mild enough that my daughter could eat it, but absolutely perfect for the grown-ups with some sriracha added!

Honey Almond Chicken

This was fine. Very moist, but also pretty bland. I would not make again.

Quick Lemon Crisps

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
Ok, first I have to admit that I messed up making these. I just realized that I used baking powder instead of baking soda- oops! Regardless, these turned out to be a pleasant, light cookie. Definitely not a crispy cookie (though after reading other reviews I think that has more to do with the name being a misnomer than my baking error. If I were to make these again I would most likely add some lemon flavoring to up the tartness. You could also substitute pretty much any flavor of pudding for the lemon and have a nice cookie.

Spicy Green Beans and Pork, Asian Style

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
The sauce was tasty but didn't really go well with the green beans.

Sambusa

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2012
I really enjoyed these. I made them into triangles rather than cones and subbed wonton wrappers for spring roll wrappers (so no need for paste), but other than that left the recipe unchanged.

Pad Thai Popcorn

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2012
I saw this recipe on the Allrecipes channel on Roku and knew I had to try it. WOW!! It's wonderful! The previous reviewer mentioned that it was too spicy, but I think the heat level is really just a matter of preference as I found it to be perfect. I didn't top with cilantro because I wasn't sure how well the fresh cilantro would store on the popcorn, but it was still just absolutely fantastic. My 6 year-old did complain that it made the house smell like wet dog while it was cooking, and she has a point, but I promise- it's well worth the fish sauce-y smell while it's in the oven!

These were really good! A little too sweet for my husband's tastes, but my daughter and I really enjoyed them.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
WOW! Making bread is my absolute favorite thing to do in the kitchen, but this is the first time I've made a baguette recipe that actually turned out the way I think a baguette is supposed to! This is definitely a keeper!!

Dijon Thyme Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
I'll give this 4 stars, but mostly because it was probably the most moist chicken I've ever eaten. Very enjoyable. That being said, the dijon and thyme flavors really didn't shine through like I had hoped. I also added a little parmesan to the bread crumbs as others had suggested.

Jambalaya-Stuffed Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
Wow, I'm impressed! I was so tempted to add extra seasoning and I'm so glad I didn't. The shrimp cooked perfectly, the flavor was awesome. I used vine-ripe homegrown tomatoes so I was concerned they might fall apart, but my fears were unfounded. This is definitely a keeper! Subbed red bell pepper for green.

Garden Twists

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
I really wish I could give this 3 1/2 stars. It was better than average but still just didn't wow me. That being said, I'd really like to play with this recipe a little. It will lend itself well to different kinds of veggies that I have on hand and I really like the thickening of the chicken broth to coat.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
One of the best graham cracker crusts I've had. Used in a citrusy pie so I omitted the cinnamon. Used in a spring form pan and it worked wonderfully.

This was a solid recipe that we enjoyed. Cool and refreshing. It would lend itself well to tweaking with other concentrates and pudding flavors.

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

These were somewhat enjoyable, but really just tasted like pickles. Good pickles, but not really a salad that I would want to eat a whole serving of.
