Brisket, Sour Cream Potatoes, Pies, Cakes and Brownies Sunday dinner after church with family and friends has been my favorite meal since childhood. The dinner has to be partially prepared or cooking in the oven so it is usually roast beef with root vegetables or bone-in ham with sweet potatoes. My own son's eyes light up when I invite him and his family over for Sunday dinner. We walk into the house to a set table and a delicious aroma while the little ones search to find the dessert. It is always well worth the effort. Pecan Pie, BBQ Brisket & Hot Rolls. I've made plenty of mistakes; but, thank goodness experience counts for something. I can pretty much look at a recipe now and know if I will like the flavors. In baking, however, texture can be a tricky thing. So, if the recipe doesn't turn out quite right I make changes and bake it again right away.
