About this Cook
I'm a 50 y/o grandmother and mother (3 of each). I enjoy trying new cooking techniques and recipes. I've really begun to appreciate cooking since my childern are all grown and out of the home. Appealling to an adult pallate is alot more challanging and rewarding, when your meal is a hit.
My favorite things to cook
anything that I've never cooked before. or any dish that may involve learning or using an untested technique.
My favorite family cooking traditions
only one. Do Not Eat Grandmas' Green Stuffing.
My cooking triumphs
Risotto.. Hurrah!
My cooking tragedies
Home-made alfredo sauce. I'm stickin' to bottled sauce. I was traumatized I tell ya.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
I made these today for a family dinner this evening. Oh my, Oh my. DEEEElish. I'd originally been looking for oatmeal raisin cookie recipe. However, going thru my pantry I discovered I'd had dried blueberries instead, and low and behold, dear hubby had once again raided my bakery pantry of every nut in site. Oh well. so I replaced nuts w dried blueberries, and kept everything else as it.. Yummmmmmy. thanks so much for this recipe

Johnny's Biscuits
Yummmmmy. best and easiest biscuits I have ever had the pleasure to devour. As did the rest of the family, grand kids included. since discovering this recipe @ easter-time, it has been my go to recipe. It is wonderful as is, but you can change up the herb& or spices, add cheese, or bacon bits.. possibilities are endless. Thanks for Posting.. Off to make a batch for the chicken biscuit pot pie.. :)

Dog Treats I
I made these "cookies" for our Chu-weenie, this morning. omigoodness, our pup is such a happy camper. after reading reviews, I made these changes. lost the corn, which is just a filler, dogs cannot digest corn. and replaced volume w the whole wheat flour (extra 1/4 c) and oats, 2 c instead of one. I also replaced margarine w bacon grease. then finally chopped bacon, and added to oat mixture. everything else was as written. My dog is all over these cookies. whenever I head into the kitchen shes right with me. thanks for the post
