When I was 13, I made pecan rolls for my family. The recipe called for 8 refrigerator biscuits but the package held 10. My mom asked me what I did with the other 2. Judging from the look on her face, "I threw them away" wasn't the right answer.

Aunt Norma's Rhubarb Muffins
As soon as I saw fresh rhubarb in the market, I knew I had to get baking. These turned out just great! Full disclosure: I used butter instead of oil (don't judge me) and I didn't add walnuts. Also, it turned out that my rhubarb measured at 2 cups instead of 1.5, so I just threw the whole thing in there. It was still wonderful. I especially love how easy it was to make a streusel topping with melted butter. Thanks for sharing this terrific recipe!

Bourbon Whipped Cream
The bourbon flavor is subtle but it's there. And so good on homemade pumpkin pie. Next, I'm going to spoon some into my coffee. Wouldn't you?

Chef John's Pumpkin Pie
This is the kind of pie that brings joy to a once-a-year pumpkin pie baker. It's perfectly spiced, with a great texture that's not overly custardly if you know what I mean. So easy, and came out just the way CJ said it would. (Can I call Chef John CJ? Because I feel like he's a real pal in the kitchen.)
