Chicken Marsala Florentine

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This dish could have been really delicious, but 3/4 cup of sun-dried tomatoes? OMG, it was sooo oily and overwhelming. I think that fresh tomatoes would have been a better choice. Sorry, it just didn't work for us.

Apple Spice Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This is a very nice and tasty cake! Just as suggested I added 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 3/4 cup of regular sugar. I also used 1/2 cup of margarine and 1/2 cup of apple sauce to cut on fat. I omitted the raisins and was conservative on the spices because my picky kids don't like them.

Mandarin Almond Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Sorry, but the way it is this recipe deserves only 3 stars. The salad was good, but the dressing was very, very bland. I added some Dijon and it turned much better.

Sloppy Sams

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I really had higher expactations on this dish based on the reviews. I do like the fact this is a healthy meal, but it was so bland, one of the reviewers mentioned about trying to cook the lentils with the sauce instead of water to absorb more flavor, maybe this could be an idea.

I made this cake for the ladies that work at my son's school office. Very easy and simple recipe. I made the Satiny Chocolate Glaze recipe for this cake too, all the ladies enjoyed it!

This dish is absolutely delicious! I sauteed some onion with the garlic, used whole wheat spaghetti and parmesan instead of mozzarella.

Gary's Turkey Burritos

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
These burritos were very good. I also didn't find hot tomato sauce, so I added regular tomato sauce and homemade taco seasoning. Also, as suggested I baked for a few minutes just to make it nice and crispy. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Simple Roasted Chickpea Snack

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
These were nice, but 2 Tbsp of olive oil is way too much, I used only 1/2 Tbsp. I also roasted at 450 degrees for 40 minutes because this way it gets crunchy and not soft in the middle.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Very good, we really enjoyed this apple crisp. I used only 1/3 cup of sugar over the apples and it was enough for our taste. Next time I will bake it less than 45 minutes, my apples were all melted and I prefer nice and firm.

Molly's Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
We don't usually eat dark chicken, but I decided to make this recipe for tonight because was simple and I didn't have much time. I was skeptical at first but this dish was so good, there were no leftovers my kids LOVED it! Here is how I made it: I browned the chicken first then sautéed garlic and 1/2 onion and transferred everything to the crockpot. I only used 1/4 cup of light soy sauce to avoid sodium, then added a little of water to make extra sauce. It was delicious! Served with basmati brown rice and steamed carrots and brocoli.

Wonderful Raspberry Walnut Dinner Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This is the second time I made this salad. With a store salad dressing this recipe gets only 3 stars, but if you make your own raspberry dressing it is really nice. I omitted the tomatoes because I'm not big fan of it and added some walnuts.

Sweet Potato Minestrone

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This was a really good soup! The only change I made was halving the amount of diced tomato; I think that a large 28 oz can would have been too much.

Garbanzo Bean Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
Excellent recipe! I used organic light mayo and reduced the amount to 1 Tbsp only, then added extra lemon juice. I also had 1/2 red bell pepper that had to be used so I added to this salad too. It turned out sooo good. Thanks for the recipe Dottie!

Turkey Polish Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Good recipe! I omitted the mushrooms because I didn't have any and used chicken sausage. Also, I cooked the veggies first set aside and cooked the sausage, then I added the veggies to the sausage, this way I had the veggies nice and crispy and the sausage well done just the way I like it.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
This is a great dish! I marinated the chicken the night before and added extra spices on chicken breasts with bones including paprika, onion powder and thyme. I used Yukon potatoes because that's what I had on hand and baked them in different baking dishes because I thought the potatoes would be done before the chicken.

Sweet and Savory Kale

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Very, very delicious! Since kale is so healthy and good for you, I'm always trying new different ways to make it and this dish is really great. I followed the recipe exactly as is, just forgot to add the almonds at the end. Served with grilled salmon and roasted sweet potatoes.
