Easy Apple Coffee Cake

I grew up with the name of Fireman's breakfast. The hole was the one the firemen slid down from upstairs and the egg was the gold colored pole they slid down through the hole. I think I learned that 70 years ago!

Bread Pudding II

This was a great recipe for bread pudding. Being a diabetic, I cut the carbs down by using skim milk and artificial sweetener and it was still quite good. For bread I used homemade buttermilk bread. I did add raisins but they would have cut the cards down a great deal more.

Pineapple Banana Bread

This was quite tastey but I had trouble getting it out of the pans although they had been well greased. My husband took a loaf to his barbershop chorus rehearsal knowing the men would gobble them up.

Favorite Fish Chowder

I cut this recipe in half since I am the only fish eater in the house. I used flounder and a can of clams. Flavor was very good but the recipe call for way too much pepper.

My Best Clam Chowder

I made this chowder as directed and am very disapponted. It had no clam flavor whatsoever despite the fact that I used two bottles of clam juice instead of the water. I will not make this again.

Walnut Maple Fudge

I followed the recipe precisely and it never set so I heated it and added confectioner's sugar to thicken it, poured it back in the 9 x 13 pan and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. It set some but still too soft on the bottom. Flavor was good but consistencey poor.

Sweet Sweet Potato Casserole

This is the second year may DIL has made this and it sure beats the old marshmallow topping. Delicious, moist and a real keeper. A bit too sweet for us diabetics but a very small serving is worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Best Cherry Pie

This recipe is much like the one I use. I however use a quart of my own frozen cherries, 3 T. tapioca for thickening. After being frozen there is a lot of juice which I use since they are what came out of the fresh cherries and I cook the filling until the consistency I want. I then put on a lattice top crust. Cherry pie is my son's favorite.

Easy Pleasy Mac N Cheesy - US Navy Style

I made this for dinner tonight and we thought it to be the best mac and cheese we have ever had. It was very moist and flavorful. I found it to be a recipe that will serve more than 6. The two of us will be eating it for several days! Thank you for sharing this recipe. My husband is AF retired but the Navy serves really good food! Thank you also for serving in the armed forces. You are special people.

Pineapple Pecan Pie

I didn't get to eat a bite of this but took it to a church luncheon and the cooks said that it disappeared so fast they didn't get any either. Must have been good! I plan to make another soon. Some other reviews mentioned that the top poured over the pecans was too much for a 9 inch pie and it was. I will cut that in half next time.
