With all the rain and cold weather in Louisiana at New Year’s this year, we decided to skip the traditional meal and go for a Cajun favorite. This time we used rabbit instead of chicken. The rabbit turned out very tasty, but chicken thighs turns out just as yummy! This one we adapted slightly… MORE

If you like mushrooms, this is for you. Saw this recipe on the cooking channel and made a few modifications. It’s easy and delicious. Try using different types of mushrooms instead of just one in the dish. When we made it the first time we used regular button mushrooms and portabella together. MORE

We tried the Asian Beef Skewers. They were awesome. Check them out in the recipe box. It was like we were at the restaurant. Make sure to marinate them at least 2 hours, overnight is best. And before you place them on the skewers, be sure to soak the skewers in water for half an hour so they… MORE

Check out the latest meatloaf recipe we tried. It's a modified version of one we saw on the Food Network. If you enjoy a spicy Mexican flavor to your meatloaf this is the one. The glaze has a nice tomato-sweet flavor which gives this recipe both a spicy and sweet taste. While I enjoyed the… MORE

Bread pudding is always one of my favorite desserts. Here is a great recipe we ran across and it is absolutely great! Limoncello Bread Pudding. The one change we made from the original is to change the bread type from a loaf of Italian style bread to croissants. The croissant is extra buttery… MORE

Very good. Everyone liked the stew. The red wine did a good job of flavoring the whole dish. Of course, pick a wine you really like and remember, if you wouldn't drink it, you shouldn't cook with it. There is no such thing as a cheap cooking wine. I used a Chateau St Jean Merlot. Also check… MORE

Tried an awesome and easy dessert tonight. The recipe came from a friend who makes this on campouts with his scouts. I made a few modifications in the area of how much cinnamon to add and using a baking butter (unsalted) but in general, the recipe is great. And just about anyone will eat this… MORE

Just how many lemons are on a Meyer lemon tree? Well, lots and lots! We have one, it’s only about 7 feet high but it produces around 600-700 lemons per year. Amazing. We bake lemon chicken, lemon broccoli chicken, Greek chicken with lemon, fish with lemon, freeze lemon juice, and finally… MORE

Have trouble with indigestion and chili? Want something similar but a little lighter? Want to “Eat Mor Chikin” and less beef? Try White Bean Chicken Chili. The recipe is easy to make and delicious. For added flavor I used thigh meat instead of breast and grilled them beforehand. I could have… MORE

Over the holidays I had the chance to try a couple of great recipes. One that was just outstanding was a “White Chocolate Bread Pudding.”  A buddy of mine made it for a office get together and he passed the recipe my way and while I’ve never made bread pudding before, this was quite good and… MORE
