So my husband went to the doctor and was advised that he needed to completely change his way of eating. I don't mind telling you that after working all day, we often ate fast food or quick fix meals which definitely equated to high-fat and high carbs.
The highlight of my week was knowing for…
Carmelized Pork Tenderloin
Simple Sauteed Scallops
Herb crusted chicken
All my cooking has been learning myself over the life of my marriage. I like to try new recipes as long as I can figure out what the ingredients are. I often like to tweak recipes to meet my likes and after I make a recipe a few times, I don't measure precisely.
My favorite things to cook
Of course I like to cook desserts, but I mostly have been trying out new low-fat and low-carb recipes for my husband.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother-in-law made the best homemade rolls. A pinch of this, a little more of that, etc. Unfortunately, I can never replicate her rolls no matter how much I try.
My cooking triumphs
Just recently I need a yellow cake mix. I made my very first cake from scratch. I only need half the cake mix for my Boston Cream Cheese Cake, so I made the rest into Coconut mandarin cupcakes with Orange butter cream frosting. Everything was delicious!
My cooking tragedies
I almost always burn the french bread when trying to make garlic bread. I also easily forget when I am barbecuing which often results in overcooking.
