About Me
All my cooking has been learning myself over the life of my marriage. I like to try new recipes as long as I can figure out what the ingredients are. I often like to tweak recipes to meet my likes and after I make a recipe a few times, I don't measure precisely.
My favorite things to cook
Of course I like to cook desserts, but I mostly have been trying out new low-fat and low-carb recipes for my husband.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother-in-law made the best homemade rolls. A pinch of this, a little more of that, etc. Unfortunately, I can never replicate her rolls no matter how much I try.
My cooking triumphs
Just recently I need a yellow cake mix. I made my very first cake from scratch. I only need half the cake mix for my Boston Cream Cheese Cake, so I made the rest into Coconut mandarin cupcakes with Orange butter cream frosting. Everything was delicious!
My cooking tragedies
I almost always burn the french bread when trying to make garlic bread. I also easily forget when I am barbecuing which often results in overcooking.
