About this Cook
Hi, i'm a single mom to three boys....21, 18 and 11...we live on a little island in southeast alaska...
My favorite things to cook
breads, pies, cookies...really anything...i tend to cook alot from scratch and don't measure my ingredients very often unless it's something i've never made and just don't have a clue...
My favorite family cooking traditions
our main tradition is during the holidays...we all get together and make gingerbread cookies and have the most fun decorating...this year we actually already started with autumn themed gingerbread cookies...
My cooking triumphs
i consider everything that i make or concoct that is edible and people just can't get enough of....a triumph, lol....

Peanut Butter Cake III
Hi all, I made this cake this morning, in fact I actually made two of them...one a double layer and the other, a bundt cake. The cake tastes really good and the frosting is to die for. For the middle layer on each I took some regular store vanilla frosting and mixed it with grape jelly so I ended up with a peanut butter and jelly cake. I highly recommend!

Southern Red Velvet Cake
Hi all...I just made this cake this morning for my son's boyscout bake sale. This cake is awesome and so easy! The frosting is one of the best I've ever tasted...I didn't have any problems with it at all. I totally recommend the cake and frosting!

Pie Crust III
My oldest son made this crust last night for a broccoli and chicken pie and it was absolutely wonderful. He said it was very easy but a little oily. It will certainly be made again and I plan on playing around with different kinds of oils depending what I put in the pie. Thanks for sharing!
