Cheesy Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2005
I loved this recipe! This was cut in half (for 5 instead of 10), substituted a handful of dried mushrooms (on hand) for fresh, reduced the onion to 1/4 cup, and substituted 1/2 shredded colby/jack cheese (on hand). The flavors of the bacon & onion, and cheese with the green beans was awesome!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2005
For a lighter version, we boiled our large wings, brushed with sauce and baked until lightly brown. The sauce was great. They were a hit at our party.

Strawberry Yogurt Pie II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2005
My teenage son got a variation of this recipe from his girlfriend because he loved the pie so much. It's quick, easy and delicious. The variation used only low fat yogurt, "lite" whipped topping, strawberry jello, and a graham cracker pie crust. His girlfriend told us to go easy on the whipped topping, because it will make for a thinner pie... but it's delicious any way you make it...

Candy Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
This sounded better than it came out. It was too sweet for most of our tastes, even the sugar addict (our son). We used the little M&M's (candy coated chocolate) and the colored shells quickly melted into the ice cream, making everything a light brown. It came out like an ice-milk using 1% milk. If I were to make it again, I'd definitely reduce the sugar...

Impossible Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
This was fun to make and tastes good too! Update 12/24/06: I have continued to make this recipe for the last several years from this site and I have successfully converted the family and friends to a "no crust" type of pumpkin pie! 11/24/11 Update: This converts easily to Gluten Free by adding 1/2 cup gluten free baking mix (leaving off the baking powder, and salt); Yes, you too can make a pumpkin pie!!

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
This was a delightfully different taste treat. We didn't have the ice cream maker and made it easily according to the directions and it came out perfect. It was ready in same time. Thanks Elizabeth.

Pasta Fagioli Soup II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
I didn't read the reviews before I made this, and wished I had. When I make this again, I plan to reduce the tomatoes/tomato sauce, the salt/garlic, and use crumbled sausage. Good recipe!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
I made this for dinner one night and my son keeps asking for it again! This was good...I used mild Salsa. My husband (who's always right about these things) says to add Tabasco for 5/5.

Easy Cheesy Cream of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
This is a keeper. I ran it through the food processor like the other reviewer suggested - leaving out a few florets for texture. It came out very creamy. I served it for company and there were no leftovers! Thanks Keli!

This was okay as it is - but nothing special. I'll make it again, but will make changes as some other reviewers suggested. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
I love spinach, but found this too rich, too salty... like a little spinach with my cheese. I scaled it back to 4 servings but found it didn't have a nice taste. Agree with the other reviewer, it didn't need 5 hours in the crock pot - but I probably will not make this again.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
This is a solid hit - for company and family. My son keeps asking for this for dinner one of these nights... As the reviewers suggested, I added extra minced onion, 1/2 parmesan and with some reviewers saying it needed additional spice - I added a few chopped jalopenos. It was easy, fast and delicious on bagel chips from the deli section... Everyone enjoy! Thanks Doreen!

Scalloped Tomatoes

This was a nice alternative for veggie fare. I loved it and remember my mom making something similar when I was a kid... but my husband and son didn't care for it. I think it would work for a ladies luncheon. I'll make it again just for me! Thanks Linda!

Pineapple Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
I've made this several times for company and family - and enjoy it every time. We especially like it using crushed pineapple versus pineapple chunks... The combination of pinapple and cheddar cheese is a surprising taste match. I've served it with Ham or pork chops. With the summer heat - I've even baked it in the microwave and it came out fine. Enjoy. Thanks Lynette!
