Ramen Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
I was skeptical of using the entire ramen noodle packet - thinking it would overpower the cabbage/noodles. It was good with Italian salad dressing... My mother - in - law was familiar with the recipe, and she's reassured me that it's good made up just as it's written...I'll try it again soon! Thanks Tamera!

Kraft's Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
Friends of mine introduced me to this recipe - she'd bring it to every church dinner, and the bowl always emptied early. The longer it seasons, the better it is. Thanks!

Cucumber Salad I

This simple light salad was good. It made 4 generous servings - any leftovers didn't last long.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
This is a nice potato salad - very similar to the way my mother made her salad. I've tried it with red and regular idahos - and it makes up great either way. Even cutting this back to 6 servings left plenty for leftovers (which didn't last long!). Thanks Donna!

Eggplant Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
I gave this a 5, my husband and son gave it a 3 - so we averaged a 4! This was easy to make. Like the other reviewers, we skipped the microwaving - they didn't need it. We just fried the slices and followed the directions, using all the fixings. I don't usually like pickles on my burgers, but liked the tastes together. Thanks Irv!

I've made this several times - varying types of veggies each time. The package of frozen stew vegetables made up the best. Thanks Elizabet!

This is another family favorite from this great site! I've made this several times for my family of men and they loved it. It's not too warm. I used turkey sausage and a large Pot. Thanks Petra!

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
This is a great family recipe. This is one of my teen-age son's favorites. It's easy enough for him to make... I didn't have a packet of taco seasoning, & instead used one small chopped onion, 2 T Chili powder, 1 t Salt, 1/2 t Cumin and 1/2 tsp chopped garlic. Enjoy! Thanks Alyce.

Carrots Au Gratin

This is at the top of our list of family favorites from this site - and we have several. I've scaled it to 6 servings, used sliced fresh baby carrots and enjoyed the positive responses. I've been asked for the recipe - and my husband looks forward to seeing this one on the menu!

Ukrainian Meat Filled Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
These were great! I grew up in an Ethnic area of upstate and NY and this taste is authentic! These disappeared in no time - so I'll probably double it in the future. They were a little salty - so I'll cut the salt back too. My picky son doesn't like sour cream - and they were great without the sauce... They didn't need it. I really enjoyed these, thanks for the taste of "home food" Olga!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
My husband told me "you can make this anytime" - and it's a good company dish. The sauce can be cut in half or omitted altogether. The 2 cups cheese makes it very cheesy, and could be reduced to 1 cup. Thanks Rebecca!
