Garbage Plate Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
This recipe turned out horrific. I was so looking forward to it but the vinegar was still present even after the full cooking time and then some. Also the cinnamon, allspice and clove mix was just too over powering. I wish I could have some how saved it by doctoring it up but the combination of spices were too strong.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
This is a great goto recipe for leftovers! I used turkey and the kids and hubby loved it ! Next time I will use mixed veggies instead of peas because the kids cleaned their plates, I can hide more veggies in this dish and they are none the wiser!!

American Chop Suey II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
I made this last night , so quick, so easy and so good with such basic ingredients. The family loved it. Perfect meal to make when you don't know what you want for dinner or if ya just don't want to be in the kitchen for long. If you liked cafeteria food from high school this reminds me of the mystery macaroni mix, just throw some american cheese slices on top a there ya have it. Try it, I know you'll like it.

Jan's Pretzel Dogs

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
WFDM, you knocked it out of the park with these dogs! These were so easy to make and they tasted out of this world. I followed the directions to a "T" and had no problems what so ever. I am making a second batch to freeze as you suggested for the kiddos. I made a batch with regular hot dogs and a batch with jalapeno and cheddar hot dogs, all were gone with no leftovers in sight!! Thanks for a great keeper. Being from the Philly area I say " Philly pretzels who?" Jan's rock!!!!

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I would give this 5 stars but I didn't use the sauce it called for. I used a bottle that I prefer but the technique itself for cooking the ribs were perfect! They were falling off the bone and finger lickin' good! This is my goto for ribs, thanks for the recipe!

Alligator Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This was awesome, the only thing I didn't do was add the chopped chili in the adobo sauce because I didn't have it! I also couldn't get ground gator so i used just tenderized gator meat, kinda like chicken breasts. I chopped it up small and the chili turned out perfect! Everyone loved it, Thanks Doug!

Jan's Good-N-Crusty Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I made these tonight and it was a hit with the family. I nuked the beer to make it flat because I started the recipe late, I also didn't have the gluten but used the bread machine yeast instead that was recommended to me by "What's for dinner, Mom?". I also had no cornmeal but the loaves came out perfect on parchment paper. I used an egg wash and they came out beautiful. If you are looking for a crusty roll/bread with a moist center stop right here, ya found it!! This will be my goto for a great crusty bread, Thanks for a family keeper.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
These sandwiches could give the pub a run for their money! My hubby isn't a big beef eater but came back for seconds and leftovers the next day. You must toast the buns and add provolone cheese to truly experience the awesomeness of the sandwich!

Cone Cupcakes

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Made these and received rave reviews!!! Kids and moms liked them a lot. Have fun with it : ) Also to use a a carrier , I used a clothes box (put together) and traced the bottom of the ice cream cone onto to it. (just a little bigger than the cone itself) Make the amount of circles that you need for the amount of cupcakes made then cut out the circles. I covered with tinfoil and poked the a hole in the center of the circle and tucked the foil underneath. This helped with the decorating to. Hope it helps.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I followed the recipe to the "T" and thought that it came out very bland. My son on the other hand liked it. I think I'll stay with my Nana's recipe but thanks for a new way to try them in the slowcooker.
