Chinese Pork Dumplings

I have done this recipe several times and it is fabulous. It is really really easy to make it just takes a little time but what I do is double the recipe and they freeze very well

Tomato, Cucumber and Red Onion Salad with Mint

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
I've been made fun of for making this, for years! So glad to see that other people enjoy it too. I've never known how to dress it up and thanks to you now I can. I always had it with just tomatoes, cukes, vinegar, salt, pepper! And folks out there concerned about it getting watery, not a problem. Cukes and tomatoes are so full of water, the ingredients bring out that water. But I just eat this delicious, refreshing snack and leave the water in my dust. It's always going to "sweat" I believe it's called, just because of it's character. Not a problem for me, I use a fork and the water just drains right through to the bottom of the dish. :o)

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
A double OMG on this pie crust. Everyone raves about it and Carolealana deserves the rave reviews. I've never heard of using egg or vinegar to wet the dough but it works like a miracle. I made a cherry pie at 2am last night and the pie didn't last 24 hours, for a family of . . . 2. Me and my husband could not get enough pie crust! Absolutely delicious. Thank you Carole, thank you, thank you. I will use this recipe the rest of my life, I will hand it down to my kids, and I'm sure they will hand it down to theirs! OMG.

Yeast Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
Best waffles ever! My tip, not changing anything in Janet's recipe, is that I double it, let it sit overnight, make the waffles next morning, and freeze them. Then when I want some I just put them in the toaster on "defrost" first, then toast them and they come out just like they were fresh made! Honest they do!

The Best Steamed Asparagus with Chicken Broth

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I loved this dish although I did it a second time and added 1/4 cup chicken broth (canned) with Chardonnay and the butter. It was a little less wine tasting. Very good. It will be my regular from now on. Thanks.

Yummy Roll Ups

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
This makes a fantastic, quick, snack (using word snack because I don't know how to spell h'orsderves??) but I mean h'orsderves. Fantastic, tasty, and it's like using sandwich ingredients without the bread, which is good for me being diabetic, love love love this idea for gatherings. And like another person said, only rate things if you actually make it according to the original recipe and try it, actually try it and see what it tastes like before you rate it with changes. That would not be an honest rating. These 'Yummy Roll Ups' are very good as is. Thanks for the idea!

Artichokes In Pressure Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I've tried making artichokes by using a pressure cooker. I put just enough water to reach the good meaty part of the choke, add juice of half a lemon, the lemon rind, sprinkle some Italian Spice from a jar, add 1 bay leaf, 2 garlic cloves, 1 chicken bullion cube, salt and pepper to the water. Clean, trim the tips, cut the bottom just enough so they sit up straight. In the pressure cooker I wait for the little jingle jangle of the top and then cook artichokes for no more than 7 minutes. Done! Quick easy and very tasty. Somehow the pressure cooker does not let the water take away from the flavor. I follow the rest of the tips on dipping, butter, mayo, lemon, whatever is good. Pull off a leaf, dip the meaty bottom part of it, and skim off the meaty part and toss the rest of the leaf. Fast and delicious.

Yeast Waffles

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
Fantastic. Light and airy and crispy! Very unique flavor and not like those restaurant type waffles that taste like toast with syrup on it. These are not that difficult. They sound like it but they are NOT hard to make. I just whip them up, put the mixing bowl in my oven overnight and make waffles in the morning. I even make this recipe, the next day make the waffles, cool them and freeze in a large baggie. Voila! Ready to toast and eat. (being careful to defrost in the toaster and cook on a low setting so you don't burn them)
