My family and I love to try anything new or spicy and preferably ethnic. Give us Indian, Mexican, Thai, Middle Eastern...whatever! We like it all.
We are trying to eat healthier. Who isn't? I like to remake old favorites to see if I can lighten them up without skimping on the flavor.
My favorite things to cook
Spanish dishes. Tell me there's a tapas party and I am in for at least 6 dishes of something.
Oh, and lettuce wraps. The chicken is so tasty with lime, garlic and ginger. The colorful toppings of scallions, radish, cucumber, anything, make the wraps look like little presents. And they're low cal, low carb and delicious.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas dinner is the best because our tradition is to be non-traditional. Each year at Thanksgiving we decide on a theme. Last year was barbecue. Maybe this year we will do Indian or Spanish. Who knows?
My cooking triumphs
Well there have been many. Either I am as good a cook as everyone says or everyone around me is just agreeable and happy to eat anything!
My cooking tragedies
There have been many of these as well. As my husband and brother say, "Put an X through that one!"
