Bella's Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
Loved this recipe. I used good balsamic vinager and pre-cooked bacon, I opted not to use salt, but instead, I added 1 tablespoon of capers. My husband started to make a face, but decided to give it a chance. Now this is another way to eat this veggie.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Making this recipe tonight. Husband is working on putting it together as we speak. Instead of potatoes, I'm putting Turnip and will be omitting the wine and flour. I'll thicken it at the end with corn starch instead. Instead of water we will be using the juices from the pan and Beef broth. I'll let you know how it turned out.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
thanks JAQATAC, this was a great way to try these for the first time. I was going to roast them with other veggies, but ran out of time so I just did the brussel sprouts and I'm glad I did, it gave me the chance to just taste this wonderful veggie alone. Next time I'm going to try it with frozen and see they come out just as good.

Ground Turkey and Hominy

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
Pretty Good, I gave this a 4 start rating because I thought that it could have been a little bit more spicer for the taste, but over all it was delish...I also changed a few things, I started with 2lbs of Ground turkey, and instead of just using tomatoes I used zucchini's in tomato sauce and that added more veggie, always a good thing. I also added 1/2c of water to rinse out the cans and that kept the mixer moister. I only put one can of hominy, because that is all I had. I put this over spaghetti squash, to eliminate some of the calories.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
What a great recipe. We had this for lunch with a salad. The only thing that I put in for my taste was Hot salsa. Everything else I left the same. I would for sure next time keep some of the beans a side and not blend them about a half a can. I will also be trying to make this with dry beans also.

Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I'm sure this would have been great as is. Trying to watch what I eat, so we substituted the sugar with splenda and omitted the sherry. Served over Pork loin chops and "OH MY", what a kick. I will use the rest of it on Thanksgiving day over the turkey instead of gravy. Never new what to do with Cranberries before, but now I know.
