Hamburger Buns

I have not tried this recipe yet, but am curious why all the reviews address warming the milk and water. The recipe clearly instructs you to use warm milk (110 degrees) and warm water. It also says to mix the first 5 ingredients and let stand for 5 minutes which is plenty of time to proof the yeast.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Double Tomato Bruschetta

This is an excellent recipe. Will definitely used it again. I will probably cut down on the garlic next time as we don't like a strong garlic flavor. I followed another reviewer's suggestion and used it as a dip instead of putting it all together and melting the cheese.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Was a little disappointed that this didn't have more lime flavor. I think it needs more lime juiceand maybe a bit more red wine vinegar if I make it again.

Fried Rice

Tasty base reicpe for fried rice. I didn't have any teriyaki sauce so substituted soy sauce. Had some leftover pork roast that needed to be used so diced it and added while browning the onions. Also added some diced garlic instead of garlic powder. Will most likely use this recipe again when I have leftover rice.

Sweet Baby Carrots

Will use this one again with a couple of modifications. We don't need extra sauce to dip bread in so just made half as much sauce as called for and used the 1 lb package of baby carrots. It was plenty. It was a tad sweet so will decrease the honey and brown sugar a bit next time. Also steamed the carrots instead of cooking in water. The flavor and texture were fantastic.

Roasted Asparagus With Thyme

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Great recipe. I've always had a problem with the crust coming off the steak during the frying, but didn't happen with this one and the crust is so nice and light. I used sirloin steak and pounded it to 1/4 inch. It was so tender you could have cut it with a fork. Think this crust method would work great with chicken or pork as well.

Spicy Chicken Rice Soup

Great recipe! I made it for my son and daughter-in-law using a suggetstion from an earlier review. Substituted 2 jalepeno peppers for the green pepper and the flavor was fantastic. I debated about adding tomatoes, but didn't this time. May try that next time. Think that would make it very similar to tortilla soup.

Sweet and Spicy Picante Chicken

Excellent recipe. Even my dh, who isn't fond of chicken, liked it. I used mild salsa and think next time I'll use at least half medium. The brown sugar off sets the pepper and it could have used a bit more spice.

I had never tried peanut butter brownies but love the taste of peanut butter so gave this recipe a try. What a pleasant surprise. They are excellent and were a big hit at work. After reading some of the other reviews, I made a double recipe and baked in a 9x13 pan with only one alteration. I only used 3 eggs and the result was a chewy moist brownie like bar with a wonderful peanut butter flavor. I will definitely use this one again.

Dutch Apple Pie

I've made a pie like this for years and it always gets rave reviews. I use 1/2 cup brown sugar in the topping instead of white sugar and just bake in the oven without any parchment paper until the topping is brown and slightly crisp.

Buttermilk Pie III

I had never made a buttermilk pie so was delighted when this one was so easy and tasted great. Reminds me of an egg custard recipe that I've used for years. I will probably add the lemon flavoring that someone suggested when I make this again.

Quinoa Side Dish

This was our 2nd try with quinoa and am so glad we didn't quit after our first try. This is an excellent recipe. I used chicken broth only because I was out of vegetable broth and followed the rest of the the recipe as written. Will definitely use this one again.
