I was very sceptical about cooking chicken and dumplings in the slow cooker and my husband tried to "advise" me to cook them the old fashion way. However, this was wonderful! I have never cooked chicken that turned out so tender and juicy! I followed other's advice and put the chicken in frozen and it turned out divine! I used cream of celery and cream of chicken & mushroom (a new Cambell's cream soup that combined both in one can). I added about one tbsp each of garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder, and celery powder. Cooked the chicken overnight and then transferred it to a pot to cook the dumplings on the stove top...to satisfy the hubby. Next time I will cook the dough in the slow cooker. This will be a family recipe to pass down. Thanks so much Janiece for sharing!
