Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
My daughter and I made these for Father's Day. They are Daddy's favorite! We baked a dozen and froze the rest of the dough to make cookies whenever we want. Thank you for the recipe!

Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
This is a great recipe that is very open to adaptation. Love that! I was able to get it lower cal/lower fat/lower sodium/more vitamins and nutrients by using the following instead of the original recipe: Fat Free/Reduced Sodium chicken broth in place of both the sherry and the bouillon/water; Barilla Whole Grain Linguine; All frozen veggies: spinach (1/2 cup), peas (1/2 cup) California Style veggies (1 cup); and EVOO instead of canola oil. I loved the results and it really gave me everything I needed and nothing I didn't. My picky husband didn't care for it, but still ate his entire portion. lol I think he liked it a little but didn't want to say he liked something good for him. Lots left over for tomorrow. Yum!

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
These were excellent. Every member of my family loved them. These will be my go-to rolls from here on out. I did egg wash the rolls before baking and they were just as beautiful as they were delicious. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!

Apricot-Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
This was wonderful! I used Japanese plum wine and added a splash of rice wine vinegar to cut the sweetness just a bit. Perfect weeknight meal! Even my preschooler loved it.

Chicken Paprika

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
I did this to the letter with the following exceptions, only 2 breasts instead of 4 (they were huge!) and I substituted a cup of plain Greek yogurt for the sour cream since I was fresh out of sour cream when I made this. Every member of my family loved this. Even my very picky 4 year old. This one is going in my normal rotation.

Grill Dough

I split the dough into 6 personal sized pizza crusts and the entire family made their own. This crust was perfect! It tasted so much better than any I can get locally. Thank you for the great recipe!

Sofrito

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
This is a deceptive seasoning. It smells like it is going to be a lot spicier than it actually tastes. Very easy to make and very tasty.

Carne Guisada III

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
Excellent dish! This was my first taste of Puerto Rican cooking and I'm hooked. Very easy to follow recipe and I let it cook in the crock pot (after browning the beef) for 7 hours on low and the meat was so tender and fell apart. Yum!

Hearty Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
This is outstanding as is. Easy and tasty! I did make changes as I was the only one eating it at the time. I cut the recipe in half to have leftovers for myself, added a slight dash of salt and pepper, and topped the cooked eggs with diced tomato when I plated them. Perfect quick breakfast! Loved it.

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to make a few changes to get it the way I like it. Here's what I did: Doubled the garlic (I like garlic heavy hummus) Omitted the salt Doubled the olive oil Added 1 tablespoon of lemon juice Added a small amount of water as it was blending in the food processor instead of using bean liquid (I had drained mine for using a few beans to garnish a salad, otherwise I would have used the bean liquid) Initial taste test: Very yummy and should be more awesome tomorrow.

French Fried Potatoes

These turned out great! I'm going to play a bit with how I soak and fry them to get them just right to my liking, but following the recipe as is turned out pretty well.
