We have so many bananas here in Trinidad! Often the heat in the kitchen during the day makes them ripen very fast. Personally, I like bananas at the "just ripened" stage. Once they get too many spots or browned skin, I put them in the fridge and make banana nut bread soon… MORE

In Trinidad there is an abundance of foods from many cultures, in addition to the local Creole dishes. But why not Mexican? I can get the standard mass-market tasteless flour tortillas, salsa, etc. But nowhere is there REAL food like the amazing chimichangas, chorizo, enchiladas, etc. from my… MORE

Finally bought a little freezer to give my fridge a break. Now I can keep the space-hogging breads, meats, nuts in there and use my fridge freezer for often-used, partially-used things. It takes so much less power than I thought it would and is almost silent. Why didn't I do this long ago?? MORE
