Chef John's Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
This recipe is so good, I smiled after taking a bite. Added celery seeds and fresh chopped onion to the brine. After crisping the skin, put the chicken in the oven to bake all the way through. Garnished with sea salt. Very, very good!

Sausage and Vegetable Risotto

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2014
Just about any dish with Johnsonville Italian Sausage is going to be good. And this one is fantastic! I left out the peas, so I added a bit more fresh asparagus to compensate. The rice was cooked al dente. I'd recommend using imported Italian cheese. After you try the real thing, nothing else tastes as good. It's the difference between a good dish and a great one!

Cinnamon Vanilla Granola

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2014
Surprisingly good! Chock-FULL of nutrition! Used pure Canadian maple syrup, toasted slivered almonds and the really, really good (expensive) vanilla, and heart-healthy Mazola Corn Oil. This is a very good breakfast dish. I'd make it again!

1-Dish Pepperoni Cheese Pizza Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
Quick and easy deep dish pizza! Didn't have Rapid Rise yeast, so I used the regular kind and proofed it before I added it to the other ingredients. The flavors were really delicious! Very quick and easy! If you like thick-crust pizza and easy clean-up, this one-dish recipe is for YOU!

Grilled Masala Chicken with Vegetables

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2014
If you like the sweet and spicy taste of South Asian cooking, you will love this recipe that includes Garam Masala. You can buy a big plastic jar of it at Wal-Mart for about one dollar. It's a nice twist on the traditional chicken. What I loved the most, was how EASY it is to cook with foil! Just chop the ingredients, put them in the foil, wrap them up in a neat little pouch, cook an toss it out when you're done. Clean-up is minimal with Reynolds!

Avocado-Shrimp Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
I left out the onion and added fresh cilantro. It takes a while to clean the shrimp, but the taste is worth the effort. (Have any of you ever wondered why the shrimp container says the contents are "DE-VEINED" but the entire bag is still full of dirty shrimp? Hmmmm.)

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
Amazing is right! They're like delicious little sausage quiches! Elegant, easy and quick! Very nice. It took a while for my hash brown crusts to brown. Much longer than 12 minutes. (Maybe it was the pan, or my oven is not heating properly.) They turned out fine though. I'd make these again. My favorite destination for breakfast is now JOHNSONVILLE! Thank you, Johnsonville!

Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
I'm not color blind. ;) I just prefer the colorful sweet peppers. Simplified the recipe. Used peppers, Johnsonville Italian Sausage, tomato sauce, rice and chopped onion. That's it. Didn't need much seasoning, because the sausage is so flavorful!

Karen's Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
Very good recipe. Nice texture and flavor, but they seemed a bit crumbly compared to the other recipe I use on ARC. I did use the Reynolds Parchment for chilling, rolling and baking. No mess in the kitchen or on me!

Homemade Irish (Whiskey) Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
This is a great recipe! No egg, no split! Put all the ingredients (except the whiskey) in the blender. Low speed. Then, slowly added the whiskey. It did not split! Needed a little sugar. Try THIS one!

Ashley and Whitney's Popcorn and Pretzel Sweet Snack Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
Very good! Comparable to Harry & David snacks. I used toasted, slivered almonds because I like the flavor and texture. When you make this, use a HUGE bowl to mix the ingredients. Thin the chocolate with a little bit of milk so you get an even coating on the ingredients. This snack mix is a little on the sweet side. Give it a good sprinkle of Sea Salt to balance the flavors. Very good!

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
Very nice! The next time I make this, I'll add a bit of chopped pineapple to balance the flavors of the spices and meat. But this is a very good recipe as it is. Used Mazola Corn Oil. A nice choice, as the flavor of the oil complimented the taste of the tortilla.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2013
One cup of Irish Whiskey. Added it very slowly. In fact, I DRIBBLED IT IN! But it STILL curdled. Why? Oh well. Strained the solids out and it still tasted really good. Next time, I might just buy a bottle of Bailey's.
