Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2015
This turned out great. My husband LOVES fried chicken and as much as I would live to make it for him, I can't stand at the stove for very long... So this was a great substitute! He loved it!! I used thighs and breasts, both boneless. I did use half mayo & half milk...I think it turned out perfectly. Moist on the inside and crisp on the outside... Just like pan fried chicken, but without being at all greasy. I'll make it again for sure.

Quick Sun-Dried Tomato and Basil Hummus

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
Great tasting hummus! I rinsed off the beans to get the skin off the beans and the extra sodium. I also make my hummus in the blender! This really helps to make the hummus super smooth. And you can cut back on the oil or cut it out completely if you are trying to go oil free for better heart health! I left out the oil and it was still great!

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2012
Tasty! Quick to make! However, next time I make them I will not use the soda. I just don't see a need for it. I also cut back on the sugar...used both white & brown, but cut back by 1/2 called for and it was plenty sweet...and I have a huge sweet tooth!

Bella's Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
After reading the reviews I was really hoping for a great recipe...but no one in my family liked it, not even those that love Brussels sprouts. I would have given it no stars, but I gave it 2 because its easy to make, and most of the ingredients are usually in most kitchens. A lot of other reviews say its good, so it probably comes down to taste. But I wont make this ever again.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
I normally prefer my cake without frosting. But this frosting is delicious. I used low fat 1/2 & 1/2 instead of the evaporated milk as it's what I had on hand. Otherwise I made this according to the recipe. It made enough for a 9x13 cake with just over a 1/2 cup left ove - although I didn't put on a thick layer of frosting. I'll make this again & again!!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Picky husband loved it!! With my old oven I decided to just bake it pretty much like a regular cake and it came out fantastic and very moist! This makes a lot of cake as I got a large bundt cake and 6 muffins out of it. I baked it in a bundt pan for 45 min at 325 (old oven)... after that I let it sit on a rack for about 10 min, turned the cake onto a baking sheet and then returned it to the oven for another 15 min or so as the bottom of the cake was not completely done. I didn't frost it and it didn't need it. This cake tasted delicious and stayed moist until the last crumb! Will make again for sure!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Picky husband loved it!! Like most people I did do some changing... my husband can taste any type of vinegar from a mile away so I left that out. I doubled the sauce and so glad I did! I used skinless, boneless breasts and lined my baking pan with foil, laid the chicken on that, covered with sauce and then baked till done. I served with rice and steamed veggies. This will be in the monthly rotation - and this would be a great sauce to use for a lot of dishes. Edit - I now make this sauce every month to keep on hand. I double it, cook it up and put it in a jar. My family eats a lot of stir fry and rice throughout the month and they love this sauce. Keeping some in the fridge makes it easy to use whenever anyone wants some Terriyaki sauce. Much better than store bought!!

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
We loved this!! The first two times I made it I left out the white wine and the rosemary as I didn't have any in the house. I made a bunch of brown rice and some mixed veggies and called it dinner. The entire family - including my super picky husband loved it! He has asked me to put it into the permanent recipe rotation - so it must have been super delicious to him! The second time I did double the sauce as I made extra rice and extra chicken... the next day we ate sandwiches made with the chicken and mixed the sauce with some mayonaise and good golly was it fantastic!! YUM!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
Made this for my daughters bridal shower. DELICIOUS!!! I made extra of the tortilla chips with cinamon - glad I did! I didn't make too many changes - just used fruit I could get at the store.. kiwi, apples, blueberries, strawberries etc. Any fruit will work fine! I did use orange marmalade for the jam part - yummy! Everyone asked for the recipe!

Chili I

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
This is great chili! I don't add beer to it - but otherwise I make it pretty close to the recipe. I've won office chili cookoffs with this and everyone always says I make the best chili!

Orange Cream Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
Love this! I make this every holiday - and everyone loves it! I generally add whatever fruit I have on hand or pick up. The peaches that have cinnamon syrup are delicious in this - and I generally add a little cinnamon to the mix. But - we love cinnamon!

Maple Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2003
Terrific!!! I've made this recipe for 3 years now - every Christmas! Everyone loves it and the gravy is delicious! I make extra Maple Butter as our family really loves a ton of gravy and we do like the extra maple flavor... I have used different herbs under the skin and whatever kind I use - it always turns out great. The turkey is moist - but I believe you really need to purchase a good turkey to start with - you get what you pay for! Try it - it's delicious!
